NRA sanctioned  2700 tournaments
-Many of you have received the bulletin for the subject 2700. The relays are filling up fast and there is a great deal of interest in the tournament. If you want to guarantee a shooting position you need to register and send in fees now, even if you are only shooting one or two guns. If you need a bulletin let me know. There are two additions to the original bulletin. These are:

-The second relay each day will commence the .22 aggregate immediately after the first relay completes the center fire relay. After the second relay completes the .22 aggregate the first relay will complete the .45 relay. (Originally the second relay would fire both the .22 and CF aggregates. This change allows the first relay to complete the grand aggregate in a more reasonable time.)

-On Sunday, May 19, an IDPA action pistol match will be held immediately to the right of the bullseye range. Accordingly, there will be a great deal of sporadic noise. This noise will not distract the focused bullseye shooter, however anyone who shoots on Sunday needs to know this. [Back]

New Thursday Hours
To take advantage of the longer amount of day light for maximum shooter participation the Thursday Bullseye
pistol Relays will start later commencing February 21, 2002.  The center fire relay will start at 2:00pm and the
.22 relay will start at 4:00pm.  The cost will be $3.00 per relay and CF scores will not be included in the league
statistics.  You can shoot .22 in either, or both, relays and those scores will be included in the league stats.  [Back]

Bullseye Pistol Committee Action Items

April 28 -   As you all are all well aware the weather precluded a BE range work party today.  Only two of us showed up to shoot the league, and being that we had a quorum Bill Hamel and myself cancelled the relay!  Though the weather turned pretty nice latter in the day, it was much too wet to even think of painting.  Then again who ever thinks of painting anyway!!!  The work party will be moved to next weekend. For those of you who may have some time available next Sunday, May 5th, your assistance would be greatly appreciated.  Again we will start immediately after the .22 Bullseye Pistol League.

During this past week Bob Denman and myself were able to paint the stubs for the 50yd target frames, the turning system couplings for the 25yd frames, and the 25yd target frames.  If anyone will have work time available during the week let me know and we will chip away at the painting list.

We have an industrial paint sprayer provided by Darrel Ralph that we can probably hold onto for another week, and 20 gallons of oil based forest green paint to spray out the baffles and range walls.  This will be only a two man job.  The other things that need to be done are:
  • Paint the 50yd target frames.
  • Paint 8" x 8" white or black squares  behind the respective 50yd target frames on the upper rail road ties
  • Stencil black or white numbers on the painted squares
  • Paint the black and white positions at the shooting bench.
  • That would be about it to get the range looking great, and have it be well preserved for the next couple of years.

Yesterday was great weather for an Army "L" target match.  However, it was probably great weather for a many things because the turnout was extremely low.  Mark you calendars for the last Saturday of every month for a real fun shoot.

I will be coming out with a schedule for the two days of the May 18/19 2700 Regional this week, based on signups at our BE Committee meeting in  January and people that have told me they will be able to help.  If you can help and you do not feel I am aware please let me know ASAP.  Review the schedule real close and let me know if there any problems or if I can schedule you more frequently.

Spray cans of rust remover and WD 40 are now on the 25yd shooting line.  If you have any problems with inserting a frame in the turning system coupling spray the inside of the coupling and the frame bottom with the rust remover.  All the wood frames we made for last year's regional have been completely destroyed from poorly executed shots.  I will be keeping four steel frames on the 25yd line for use during the week.  Use the WD40 occasionally on the bottom of the frame posts to keep them from rusting.  Always take the frames down and reinstall the coupling PVC caps upon
    completion of shooting.

    Thanks....Paul
