Why the Truck?
Home
So a lot of people have been asking me...what's the deal with the truck?  The deal is, I have this deep appreciation for old pick-up trucks for some random reason.  Maybe it's because there's just something about driving a half-century old, 3/4 ton hunk of metal down the road at 65 mph.

Or maybe it's because they just simply "don't make them like they used to."  Either way, old trucks are beyond cool.  In fact, they invented cool.  With their sleek curves and their flashy crome, it's a shame that we don't see more '50 something Ford's or Chevy's thrusting down the road.
On a slightly deeper note, my dad has told me numerous stories of Ford trucks he and his father employed in their lumberjacking endeavors. They even named their overworked and underpaid side-kicks: Thumper I, and his later offspring Thumper II.

Perhaps I love old trucks for some if not all of these reasons. Although I don't own one of these beauties just yet, I hope to one day be able to call one my own.  And if things work out, I might even learn how to work on it myself...and by work on it I mean be able to change the oil, tighten the belts, etc. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
