Switchfoot, is one of the biggest things to hit the mainstream today.  The cool part is they've been around doing their thing for over 7 years now.  For some crazy reason it just took most people (myself included) that long to discover them. 

I like to describe the band as a rich mix between Lincoln Park and Creed with some west coast punk undertones.  Pay especially close attention to frontman Joe Forman's lyrics...they're really insightful for a heavier rock band.
