22nd June 2002

Due to my exams I havent lived my dream of having the site properly running by the end of June. However after next week I will be working flat out for JPOverload, GalacticBasic.net and TresCom.org.

12th May 2002

This is prehaps the most exciting JP IV news seen for a long time:

From StarLog Magazine: "Starlog: 'Jurassic Park III' was such a huge hit that a fourth adventure would seem like a no-brainer. Will there be another sequel? Spielberg: You're talking to the guy who has got to decide, and at this point I've pretty much decided to do a 'Jurassic IV'. Similar to the third Jurassic, I will not direct it. I would hope that I could get Joe Johnston to direct this one, too, but it's up to him. I'll certainly offer it to Joe before I offer it to anyone else. We actually have a wonderful story that I think is the best story since the very first movie. In fact, I wish it were the third story instead of the fourth one. It came late, but it is actually the best story I've heard for a dinosaur movie since the Michael Crichton book. And I'm not going to tell you anything about it. My lips are sealed."

Here is some JPIV rumers currently doing the rounds, Speilberg is apparantly writing the script to the new movie while Crichton says that there are no plans for a JPIV...weird.

Also there is a new TRESPASSER site around. TresCom (Tres'passer Com'munity) opened it's doors on 28th April 2002. It's one of the largest Trespasser sites out there and it's going to have a great future. I'm doing the walkthrough for it at the moment which should be completed by the end of next week.

Some news about JP Overlaod now, as you can see the site isn't officially open yet but some sections will gradually open by the end of June 2002, probably before. But stay tuned for Jurassic Park news on Project Genesis (which has been confirmed now) and Jurassic Park IV. In the mean time go and see Attack of the Clones this Thursday!

7th May 2002

Here is some major JP IV news found on E! online, and has been on most JP fan sites on the net:

Apparently unhappy with the way Jurassic Park III turned out (even though it was a hit of T-rex proportions, with some $180 million in domestic box office), Universal and Jurassic Park's original director, Steven Spielberg, want to enlist Park author Michael Crichton for at least the story to guide the fourth installment, spies close to the project tell me. Impatience, it seems, got the best of the studio on number three, when Universal refused to wait for Crichton to come up with a storyline. Instead, they hired a series of writers and a near-disaster ensued--with director Joe Johnston arriving to begin work without a finished script. They pulled it off, but clearly, that's not the best way to make a movie. I hear plans, so far, are to pull a Dallas number ("It was all a dream..."), pretend Jurassic Park III never happened and end the series, once and for all, with IV. Which means there'd be no place for William H. Macy and Ta Leoni, who both have options to return. For now, only Ian Malcolm and John Hammond are on the drawing board. Johnston's moving on, and Universal's considering a host of brand-name directors--including at least one Oscar winner. Even Spielberg may want to direct, but that, of course, means the film may never get made. (See Memoirs of a Geisha.) In either case, I suspect Spielberg's planning a more hands-on producing approach this time.

25th March 2002
