Selections from LOF Log

Day 2:

So Ben is still knocked out cold. I’m not exactly sure what’s wrong with him. We explored the island and found fruit and clean water. Elyssa and Rebecca managed to salvage some chips, soda, and bagels out of the plane. I tried to see if the radio still worked, but all I got was static. We also got some flares from the rescue kit.I guess the plane is going to be our home for the time being. Lisa went off somewhere looking for flowers or something, but I don’t know.

Well, Ben just woke up, and he seems ok. When we explained to him what had happened, he smiled. We all built a bonfire on the beach with one of the flares and a bunch of driftwood. We sat around and ate cereal from the plane. We just talked, most of us were excited, but then Margot began to ramble on and talk about the OC and the Real World. We all thought about home and even though it was only the second day, we realized we all missed home.

Suddenly, Rishi jumped up and babbled on about how we were complaining too much and he started to try to make an argument that didn’t make any sense. Spencer hit him with his broken arm, and Rishi sat down crying. Ben, still a little slow from tehe concussion, picked up a flare and shot it at Rishi. Fortunately for him, it missed and went onto the mountain. I couldn’t help but laugh, and everyone started to laugh too. Rishi stormed off into the forest, and Elyssa followed him, compassionately trying to talk to him. We were still laughing as we went to the plane cabin to sleep.

Day 4:

We woke up today with the rain falling through the holes of the cockpit. Margot started to complain about getting wet, but we ignored her and went outside. Behind the plane, there was a long trail of dirt + mud. It made the ill mudslide. So, naturally, Ben christened it, followed by Liz right behind him. I just hung out on the back of the plane. The rest were reluctant, but after we threw mud at them, they had no choice. Elyssa got mad that we got mud on her bag, and went back into the plane to try to fix the holes. Rishi ran after her, but before he could get into the plane, Ben threw a rock hitting Rishi’s ankle. Rishi fell + broke his glasses on the doorstep. He was ok, but claimed he was emotionally wounded. No one cared.

Liz went to check on the rabbits and saw that they had a litter during the night. Spencer and Rob started to shadow box and fake swordfight, but Spencer “accidentally” cracked Rob in the head, and he got a bloody nose. Rob ran into the woods after he threw a rock at Spencer, who punched Rob in the kidney before he ran away. Rob missed, and he ended up hitting Rebecca. Her and Arlene chased him, and Lisa got Elyssa and tried to bring them back. As we walked into the plane, which we fixed, we still heard Margot whining about the rain.

Day 8:

Noone slept. There were no fires on the other side last night. I can’t believe they took Regina. They’re going to pay. Ben and I swam across the lagoon in the morning before the sun went up. We circled the camp and saw Regina tied up and beat up, but she looked alive. We heard talking and hid in the underbrush outside their fort.

The walls were 4 feel high, made up branches, leaves, and mud. On the inside, there was a trench along the wall with piles of rocks in certain spots. Everyone was sleeping on the floor, and there was a campfire in the center. I’m not sure how they lit their fire until I saw a lighter in Arlene’s pocket. I took it and then I ran back into the bushes.

Soon we heard two people coming into the fort, talking and laughing. It was Rebecca and Elyssa. Rebecca was spying on us this whole time, telling Elyssa about our weapons and strategies. That’s how they snuck up on Regina and knew that it would be only two of them..

In his anger, Ben shot a flare at Rebecca, and this time it hit her right in the chest. Everyone woke up, and we ran away quickly. As we were running, I could hear the screams of the others. I was amazed that Ben had the nerve to actually do it. I wondered if anyone could have survived such a thing.
