What's Happening St. Louis, Missouri
HISTORY OF ST. LOUIS, MO.
St. Louis in 1764 was established as a fur trading post. According to legend,  on the day of transfer of the territory to the United States in 1803, St. Louis  flew under three flags in one day--French, Spanish, and America. St. Louis's  current boundaries were established in 1876, when voters approved separation  from St Louis County and establishment of a home rule charter. By the 1890s, St.  Louis was the nation's fourth largest city. (Historical information from CIN.)
St. Louis today is under a new spirit to reclaim it's former glory, called  2004. One of the City's great moments came in 1904, when it hosted a World's  Fair: the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, in Forest Park and the city's western  edge. The 1904 Olympic games were also held in St. Louis, at Washington  University's Francis Field, in conjunction with the fair. To celebrate the 100  years time span, the local leaders are pushing to get major projects completed.
Along with the 2004 visionary goal, our fair city is home to a diverse social  and economic community providing a wide range of developmental resources. We  call the CWE home, and it's the focal point of the re-birth of the city.
For more information on what the city and Metro Region is doing to celebrate 2004, please check on their website www.celebrate2004.org or click here.  I know there's lots of fun activities planned for all to enjoy.

Check out the Science Center-Planetarium.  It now does a wonderful light show.
