Vice President Cheney
Vice President Cheney's Association with Halliburton:
The company was founded in 1919 by Erie Halliburton.  Two years later the companies shifted its headquarters to Duncan, Oklahoma, and in 1924 was incorporated.  In 1971, the organization moved its headquarters to Dallas, Texas.  Halliburton is an Engery Services Group, which "provides technical products and services for oil and gas exploration and production."  (Source:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halliburton).   In FY2004, the corporation's  revenue exceeded $20 billion. Today, Halliburton is a multinational based corporation based out of Houston, Texas.

Interesting facts:
*  In the early 1990s' a subsidiary of the company, Halliburton Logging Services, sent six pulse neutron generators to Libya, and the company was fined $1.2 million, and later $2.61 million in penalties.
*  In 1995, Richard Cheny was appointed Chairman and CEO, and later was selected as President Bush's Vice President.
*  In 2001,
The Wall Street Journal reported that susidiary of Halliburton's Energy Services opend an office in Tehran, which was while Cheney worked for Halliburton and may "have violated the Trading with the Enemy Act." (Ibid.).
*  Finds and questionable continued.  In 2002, Halliburton was involved in raking money out of the Middle East, including payhing "a Nigerian official $2.4 million in bribes in order to receive favorable tax treatment."  (
Ibid.).
*  In 2003, two years after the attack on the Trade Towers in New York City, and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., Halliburton "was still operating in Iran . . . despite sactions." (
Ibid.).
*  Kellogg-Brown & Root (KBR) division of Halliburton has contracts in Iraq "worth up to $18 billion." (
Ibid.).
*  In a April 2004 tape, Osama bin Laden mentions only one company - - - Halliburton.  Then he goes on to state that "this war [in Iraq] . . . is benefiting major companies with billions of dollars."  (
Ibid.).

It does not take a rocket scientist to figure this one out.  With deductive reasoning one can easily see the conneciton between President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheny, Halliburton, and the War in Iraq centered in upon the fact that a vast amount of money is being made from the war in the Middle East.

As our young soldiers die fighting a senseless war, big business is making billions.  In addition, not only is Halliburton in oil--but every aspect of the war.  They are even selling "expired food rations to the Army" fighting in Iraq!  (Ibid.).  War is BIG BUSINESS, and the Republicans are reaping in the benefits of war to feed the coffers of American business who make money from war..

War is BIG Business:

Mr. John J. Maresca, vice-president of Unocal Corporation, provided in a brief to the House subcommittee on International Relations, that U.S. industrial corporations are interested in the Middle East to build a pipeline.
"One obvious potential route south would be across Iran.  However, this option is foreclosed for American companies because of U.S. sactions legislation.  The only other possible route option is across Afghanistan, which has its own unique challenges."  Mr. Maresca goes on, "From the outset, we have made it clear that construction of our proposed pipeline cannot begin until a recognized government is in place that has the confidence of governments, lenders, and our company."

This is why President Bush wants a Democratic government in Iraq, and control of the Middle East -- so they can get at the oil for his rich friencs, and use American tax dollars and the lives of American troops to back up his goals.

The article ends with:  "Wars are declared, and thousands are slain, for the enrichment and the well being of the few.

War is more than the instrument of big business; it is big business."  [See: "A New Silk Road: Proposed Petroleum Pipeline in Afghanistan,"
