"Green Eyes"; a jazzy, melancholy love song speaks so close to my heart that I put this on REPEAT when I'm in the shower!! Such a classic Badu song, never publicized but an emaculate fusion of sounds..
Erykah Badu the goddess of SOUL musik
She surprised the world with her debut album Baduizm in 1997, and her sophomore album in 2000. Both critically acclaimed and topping all charts, her music is adored by a cross-culture audience. Making her an international super star. I was blessed to be at her summer concert in NY ('01). And my love for her music just grew deeper. She not only is an awesome artist but a powerful performer.
"The Otherside of the Game" is a sad but real song about what a woman goes through when you're depending on a man in the drug game. A grim reality many urban families face in the United States.  "Work ain't honest but it pays the bill..." is such a strong message.
