| Batch '76 started their secondary education at Jose P. Laurel Sr. High School in 1972, a few months before the declaration of Martial Law by then president Ferdinand E. Marcos. Majority of the class came from Vito Belarmino and Pura V. Kalaw Elemenary Schools, all located within the same vicinity in Barangay Milagrosa, Project 4, Quezon City, where they received their primary and intermediate education. |
| Students were given the option to take one of the following educational program: College Preparatory and Vocational.In the College Preparatory program, students are prepared for higher education in colleges and universities wherein focus was given to science and mathemetics subjects. The Vocational program on the otherhand gives focus on trades and skills development to prepare students for immediate employment after high school. |
| The Baccalaureate Services for the graduating Class of 1976 was conducted on March 17, 1976 at 8:00AM in the Miraculous Medal Parish Church in Project 4. Recognition Day program followed at 3:00PM of the same day.The Commencement Exercises was held a day after March 18, 1976 at 8:00 in thre morning at the JPLSHS Quadrangle. The theme for Class '76 was "Involvement of Youth in National Development". |

| The Recognition Day program was emceed by Ms. Daye C. Pineda with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem led by Mrs. Cecila Clemeno (music teacher). A short talk was given by Mr. Arbin Acosta followed by a dance number performed by selected IV-marangal students. Medals and ribbons were handed by Atty. Jose Ferrer (PTA President) for graduating honor students,, Mr. Pablo Cacatian (Bgy Chairman-Bgy. Milagrosa) for undergraduate honor students, and Atty. Johnny Regalado (President-International Tourism Training School) for special awardees. Valedictory Speech was given by Mr. Benjamin A. Balmores, Jr. expounding on the involvement of the youth in national involvement consistent with the commencement theme. A musical number performed by selected students headed by Ms. Esther Llanes and an inspirational talk given by Atty. Johnny Regalado followed thereafter. Closing remarks was given by the school principal Mr. Ernesto C. Anunciacion followed by the singing of the Quezon City Hymn conducted by Ms. Ruby Eustaquio. |
