"Home at Winfield", 1995. This year I was going to do it right. I had all new camping gear that I fully expected not to use much (who sleeps that week anyway?). We got there Wednesday about 6 PM, and by Thursday morning (my birthday, no less) at 3:30 AM they were calling the paramedics for me.
Turned out I'd been sick for a couple of years without knowing it, and spent the whole weekend sitting quietly and taking heavy antibiotics and painkillers. I was able to get around on Friday just enough for a few pictures.
The Swiss have nothing on the Winfield Wipers when it comes to fondue. For awhile it looked like anything that didn't squirm when it was caught was being boiled in oil...
