PFF-1998 Music

Paxton
Tom Paxton is always one of my favorites, and he had several sets on the "workshop stages" as well as the main stage.

Christine Lavin exploiting the intimacy of the Camp Stage with a wireless mike. This was the first time I'd heard Christine, and really enjoyed all of her shows.

Barachois at Play What? workshop
The hit of the festival was Barachois, from Prince Edward Island, Canada. They play traditional Acadian folk music, and a few hundred years haven't separated that too much from what we'd call "Cajun." Even though they sing all of their songs in French, they were far and away the crowd's favorite. At the You play a what??? workshop they demonstrated the proper way to use a saw, and their "straight" music was excellent.
