| To all the wonderful parents at Sunset Valley and Stewartsville, I just wanted to say "thank you" to all of you that I have grown to know and care about at my two schools. It's hard to believe that I won't be returning in August, and that this chapter of my life is coming to an end. To many of you this may be a good thing, but hopefully I've been of help in some way to you! Parenting is the hardest job you will ever have that there is no training for! Those kids don't come with a manual! But all we can do is try our best, and hope that the values we care about and that we feel are important have been communicated to our children. Always remember that we are role models for them, too. Those times when they push all of our buttons, or get on our last nerve, or test our limits to the hilt, remember they're watching how we handle those boundaries. When they make those mistakes let them know you dislike what they did, not them. Think to yourself, do I want them to act the way I'm acting when they are a parent? Sometimes that's all we need to remind ourselves we need to watch what we say and do! It is said that to be healthy we need at least seven hugs a day and to be told daily that we are loved. Have you given that to your child today? I will always appreciate the time and dedication that you have given to your children, and support you have given to the school over the years. Whether it was sending in birthday or holiday party treats, volunteering in the library or Reading Counts, helping with class parties, or attending school programs or field trips, you have always put your children first. I will miss seeing you in the halls or talking to you on the phone. Even though I won't be in the "guidance office" after this year, please know I will always be available if you need some advice, and feel free to e-mail me at home anytime. I truly mean that. Take care, thanks again for everything, and God Bless, Jane Pogue [email protected] |
