< >Below is a list of some daily British newspapers that sometimes have articles on Harry Potter & JK Rowling. The articles are normally in the 'news', 'more news', or 'today's contents' sections of some of the papers. Sometimes it can take up a lot of time looking for an article on JK Rowling, or Harry Potter. Some newspapers have a search box, or window, that allows you to type in a word, such as ‘Harry Potter’. This may help to quickly find wanted information. This method is also useful to find old backdated articles. Some newspapers may have an 'Archive' section, that also allows you search for past newspaper articles.

< >I’ve put a link here to a web cam in Scotland, and I thought you might like to see live views of Rowling’s home town, Edinburgh. Princes Street is the most important street in Edinburgh, is just one of the places you can see on web cam. Web cam views of Edinburgh. If you want to see more web cam views of other places in Britain, here is another link. Web cam views of other places in Britain. Also from this link you can visit other web cam sites through out the world. An interesting site to add to your favourites list.

< >You will have read that King’s Cross station is where Harry Potter goes to take the Hogwarts Express to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I just thought you may like to see a map of the station. Its something different to see. As a matter of interest, the platforms 9 & 10 are on the left-side of the station, by where it says Cheney Road, and platform 1 is on the right-side of the station. From this station trains go to Scotland, and to JK Rowling's home town, Edinburgh. Click below to see the map. It’s situated north of the central London area (ignore the words 'Trafalgar Square' at the top of the map, is not related to this map). On 8th July the publishers, Bloomsbury, converted platform 1, into Harry's fictitous platform 9 3/4, and organised a launch party for book 4 on this platform for schoolchildren. A steam train arrived with several carriages at 10am with the name, 'Hogwarts Express' on the front of the engine. At 11am JK Rowling arrived on to the platform in the same type of car that Harry & Ron flew to Hogwarts in. The car stopped next to the engine on platform 9 3/4. After meeting the TV & Press, plus some book signings, JK Rowling got on to the train, which then left at 11-27am, for a 3 day book signing tour of Britain. The rest of King's Cross station was able to carry on as normal, even though there were about a thousand people in, and around the platform 1 area.

< >Here is another map, that shows Charing Cross Road, in central London ( the road is shown vertical up the middle of the map). The road is mentioned on page 36, of the 3rd book I have. It’s somewhere in this area that Harry goes to the pub called the Leaky Cauldron, behind which lay that magical entrance to Diagon Alley. As a matter of interest, also on the map is the place where JK Rowling’s book publishers are. It’s near the top end of Charing Cross Road, to the left, is a small square, called Soho Square (the green color square on the map). On one side of this square is where Bloomsbury Publishing is. There was a movie called "84 Charing Cross Road", a true story about a book shop that once existed in this road at No. 84, starring Anthony Hopkins and Anne Bancroft. Anyway, click below, and you will see a map showing part of the Charing Cross Road area in central London (ignore the words 'Trafalgar Square' at the top of the map, is not related to this map). You will notice that around the maps are pointers that allow you to view other maps. Example, to get from the King's Cross map, to the Charing Cross Road map, you need to press the bottom pointer, starting at King's Cross, seven times (seven new maps will appear as you move down), then press left pointer once, and if I'm right, you will be at Charing Cross Road area. By pressing these side pointers will take you any where you want in central London.

< >The next site is just something I’ve added to look at. The aim is to give you a chance to see 3-D views of places in central London. It may not work for everyone. I hope it works for you. When you see the home page, scroll down until you see an article that says “Around town in 3-D”. Then click on the words that say “London Panoramas”. This will then take to a site with a list of famous places in London. Click on any picture to see a 3-D view, by moving the picture left or right to see it from different angles

< > I will in future be adding more sites that may be of interest.
