This is a small testimonial of me, awesome webmaster chetney at VMI (VIrginia MIlitary Institute) as a rat. There will be a dictionary for all the odd terms that i use so that you the readers don't get the wrong ideas. So here it goes. The story of me as a rat from Hell Week to Break Out. (8-16-03 to 1-24-04)
Dictionary:
AOC: Assistant Officer In Change
Blue Book: Regulations, VMI; the gospel,       accourding to the powers that be.
Bomb: The VMI Annual. Yr. Book.
Bone: To report; to place someone's name     on the delinquency sheet. A steppin
    stone to P.T.s.
B.R.C.: Breakfast Roll Call
B.R.F.: One who takes advantage of
    Brother Rats.
Brother Rat: Title used in addressing one's     classmate in anticipation of a loan or
    favor.
Bust: To reduce in rank to private.
C.Q.: Call to Quarters
C.C.Q.: Closed Call to Quarters
C.Q.R.B.: Call to Quarters with Release in
    Barracks
Cadet, The: The VMI weekly newpaper.
Certify: To attest to the truth of a state-
    ment, oral or written, in terms of the
    published rules of the Honor Court.
Confinement: A period of enforced
    meditation awarded to cadets for their
    grievous sins.
Drive On: To move off; to percolate on
    one's business; to agitate the gravel.
Dyke: a) A combination of your mother,
    father, and older brother/sister; your
    First Class pal, mentor, and confidant;
    b) a uniform, e.g., class dyke, gym
    dyke, church dyke; c) as a verb to get
    dressed, esp. for parade ("dyke out");
    d) the insidious white cross belts in
    which a hapless Rat gets hopelessly
    entangles while trying to "Dyke out"
    without help.
Excess: More than the allotted number of
    demerits for the period.
F.C.P.: a) First Class Privilages - a set of
    unique and convenient permissions
    enjoyed only by the First Class; b) Full
    Class Privilages - a state of grace w/o
    which you go exactly nowhere.
Gim: The sick list.
Gim-rider: One who repeatedly gets
    excused from duty on a small pretext.
Gim Co. Commander: A top notch cadet
    who outranks all others in time spent
    riding the Gim.
Hay: Our nearest approach to Heaven; a
    cot and all accessories. The liberal
    artist's perpetual hangout and the
    engineer's regret.
Hokie: Student at Va. Tech or SU.
Hold it: Appeal made to the bugler when
    finds oneself in the arch as assembly
    for a formation is imminent.
Hop: A dance.
Keydet: Wherein no explanation is                 necessary.
Limits: The confines of our confinement,
    outside of which it is dangerous to            stray.
Makeovers: The appointments and dis-
    appointments of cadet officers.
Dictionary:
Mess Hall: (also Club Crozet) a self
    explanatory term joyously applied to
    the area where the Corps gathers
    daily for culinary comestibles.
M.I.: Morning Inspection; Tac's Picnic.
Mink: Students at Washington and Lee
    University.
