It is not a shiny audacious piece like the Grandfather clock but rather the image of the humble woodsman carving for a crust of bread so that all might be in tune with the day. Inside a small chalet he has hidden for those who are too far away, or can not see, a bold little bird, which pops out proclaiming the hour has arrived.

Here is a reminder of the dove coming down on Jesus at His baptism, which is now living in the house God has created for Himself inside each of us. As the hour of Christ's need arrives the little bird pops out to proclaim His message to those who can not see. What we may not consider however is the time the little bird is not seen as he prepares for his important moment.

Hidden away from the world in our private closet with God also we are getting ready to shine. Our scripture reading, our intercession with God and our listening to the Spirit of God mount up until Christ's hour arrives and we know that what we have seen and heard in the Spirit is for this moment in time. Every Christian can be preparing for the 59 minutes and 55 seconds with Jesus to be ready for a few moments of great light to the world.

Consider His calling on you. Christ gave all of Himself to give to all of us the power to overcome. To apprehend that power we just have to be a house with a little bird inside preparing for service. It's the least we can do. So be open, be filled with the Holy Spirit and be of service to Christ our Lord in this His hour.
