This is the "official shot" that was put up on the NSA website.

Here I am with one of the many Mr. Potato Head statues in downtown Providence.   (Mr. Potato Head was the toy that made Hasbro famous, and Hasbro is the current owner of Scrabble® Crossword Game.)   This particular statue is made up to resemble Edgar Allen Poe, thus Mr. "Poe"-tato Head.   Cute, huh?   (Some of my fellow tournament competitors in the background there.)

Inside the tournament room in front of the "big board" spreadin' the word.   Yes, I did have several folks ask "Who the heck are Rick & Bubba?"

One other shot from the opening reception with my good buddy Dr. Mike Baron, a psychologist from Albuquerque, NM.

I didn't get to play Mike during the tournament, but some of the people I did play included an astrophysicist, a librarian, two teachers, two computer programmers, a truck driver, and one of the top players from Thailand, Mr. Charnwit Sukhumratanaporn.

"Stay in it!"
