Reading - We have begun our novel study, The Mouse and the Motorcycle. Check your child's red folder for activties and information related to our progress through the book.
English/ Writing - We are working our way through the six traits of writing.Our current focus is on word choice. Ask your child to see their writing portfolios, to see their creative process. We are also focusing on developing sentence structure. We are focusing on tpes of words; nouns, verbs, and adjectives.
Vocabulary - Our next vocabulary test is Friday November 7.
Math - We have been focusing on addition and subtraction skills in Unit 2 of the math text.
Religion - We are studying the Holy Spirit and the courage that it brings us. We are also studying the prayer to the Holy Spirit. This prayer is in their red folder and should be prayed nightly as a way of studying it, because they will be tested on this prayer next month.
Social Studies - We are studying communities. We are creating our own clasroom community, complete with a buildings, jobs, a city council and evne a mayor. The students are learning the inner workings of what it takes to run a community.Their unit project will be to create a diarama of their assigned job and respective building. These will be completed in Art class.
Science - We are working on our animal projects. Students will be making their diorammas in class over the next two weeks. We will be using our trip to the zoo on November 13 as a wrap up for our projects. Students will be giving oral presentations on their observations.

Wednesday November 26- Friday November 28: Thanksgiving Break
1. Study math facts every night.
2. Read for at least 15 minutes at home.
3. Keep your red folder organized.
4. Hand in all assignments on time.
5. Follow all the expectations.
