HELPFUL HINTS, SUGGESTIONS, AND LINKS
Lastly, we wanted to share a few things we learned during the planning process; a few hints, some helfpul websites, etc. Good luck and happy planning!!!
* The internet is a wonderful tool in planning an OBX wedding. Using the readily availble information on the web to research potential vendors will be invaulable as you prepare to meet and compare them. We are lucky enough to live within driving distance, but planning a destination wedding over the phone and via e-mail is easy to do. * Only a few realtors on the OBX are wedding/special events friendly. Learn who they are and they can point you to the availble homes. The sooner you decide on a home (if using for recpetion) the better. * There are many places to hold your ceremony or reception on the Outer Banks from indoor to outdoor from casual to formal there is something that everyone will like and that fits within your budget. * If you are considering a beach ceremony, consider what the beach will be like on your wedding day. While May is a beautiful month to have a wedding, and especially on the beach, the weather is even more unpredictable in the spring than any other time of year. * Speaking of weather...it is UNPREDICTABLE...no matter what the forecasters say. Have a backup plan for any outdoor activities. * The OBX is quickly becoming a very popular place for weddings. Vendors easily book a year in advance. Do your homework and start planning early. * Websites: Outer Banks Wedding Guild Outer Banks Wedding Association The Knot-North Carolina Message Board Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce HOME
