A Spontaneous Person is an
Open-minded Person
But what about reflections on my life, which are done consciously? Does it neglect the role of God’s grace? I believe it’s not, because to be truly in the spirit of reflection, contemplation or meditation, I must not be conscious of any repressing human structures. Rather, I need to open myself to all realities which could be an opportunity for reflection. To be open to all possibilities is to make our own spontaneity shine out.
Openness to the Spirit, they said, is the key to this successful but conscious process of spiritual progress. How could this openness be attained? That, I do not know. It is the grace that makes it, not us. For if we know it, we again suppress the grace and put it again in structures. The grace cannot work in this way. It flows wherever it wills.
I should not even say that praying for the grace of God is the best way to be enlightened. No, it should not be absolutized as if we know the solutions ourselves. What I could do is to be open to it, because to make a judicious solution is to put limitations on reality that cannot be restricted nor structured.
