WHO IS GOD FOR ME
God for me is the cause of my existence, so much so,
without Him, I am nothing. God is the reason:
…why I was born
…why I was raised in a particular family
…why I was able to study in Don Bosco.
…why I am here.
God is someone who is beyond human intellect. He continues
to be what man cannot:
…when friends deserted me, God fills my emptiness and assures me of His friendship.
…when parents lose their patience over me, God is there consoling me like a father.
…when others deceived me, He is still there reminding me that He is the truth.
…when others mocked me of my external appearance, He tells me I am God's image.
…when they toppled me and defeated me in games, He is there with His BEATITUDES.
Yet, God is still that Someone greater that anyone else:
…if my classmate is intelligent, He is the intelligence per se.
…if my parents are provident, He is much more unimaginably generous.
…if one is good, no one can equal His goodness.
For the past twenty years of my life, experience of life
molded me into someone unique in this world:
…I experienced pain.
…I suffered hunger.
…I knew how to be a poor worker in the world.
…I was faced with real nothingness.
…I knew the feeling of being out-of-place amidst middle-class classmates.
…I experienced crying for help.
…I was embarrassed many times.
…I trod the path of discouragement and hatred of myself.
…and right now, I am faced with insurmountable problems of incapabilities that haunt me and even discourages me to continue to be a salesian.
Nevertheless, when I try to trace the broken spots of my life,
from the past, in the present, and probably in the future,
crooked it may be, but it is directed "straight" leading to Him.
I don't want those sad experiences to happen in my life.
But God lets it happen; for me to become strong. God
for me, therefore, is a personal God, always present in me:
…I am weak, He is strong; He strengthens me.
…I am empty, He is full; He fills me up.
…I am negative, He is positive; He encourages me.
…I cannot comprehend many things, He is omniscient; He enlightens me.
…I am afraid, He is omnipotent; He protects me.
Oh, if I could only maximize all my life's experience, I
could have found Him and realized His ever presence in me.
