Using New software
Using new software on older computers can be a real challenge, and nowhere is this more the case than with games. Before purchasing a modern game, be sure to check the system requirements, and remember that they often understate the real hardware needs. If your machine barely meets the minimum you may not enjoy the experience. Most new games require the use of DirectX, and this too can cause trouble with older hardware. If you experience problems, check for new drivers for your video and sound cards; this will solve a surprising number of different issues.
