Units of Study
Commercials
The students will:

Identify types of commercials.

Practice and demonstrate proper respiration, resonation, articulation,
projection and pronunciation.

Apply/analyze/synthesize filming techniques.

Prepare a commercial in small groups.

Analyze and evaluate effectiveness of commercial productions
News Broadcast
The students will:

Practice and demonstrate proper respiration, resonation, articulation,
projection and pronunciation.

Practice and demonstrate use of microphone and on-camera delivery by rehearsing
with teacher provided news stories.
-
View and critique verbal and nonverbal delivery of professional broadcasts.

Demonstrate proper use of camera and editing techniques.
-
Prepare a news broadcast in small groups.
-
Analyze and evaluate effectiveness of news broadcasts.
Impromptu/Improvisation
The students will:
-
Use sensory and emotional recall in the recreation of personal experiences
and imaginary situations.

Develop and apply concentration techniques.
-
Create components of an improvisation.

Behavior Management
Students are to maintain 40 Give Away Points during the nine weeks.
The teacher will reward the students with 2 to 5 GAP’s for exceptional
behavior/deeds and the student will give the teacher 2 to 5 GAP’s
for misbehavior.
