Emmanuel

A bleak horizon,
The sun falls down,
We long to touch it.
Too far to reach
The clouds roll across,
Past our heads,
We reach up.
Again too high.
Yet when we kneel,
And fold our hands
There is no need to reach.
God has come Emmanuel
With us in all we do
Theres no sense to reach far off,
Gods here by our side.
Pray to Him, your Father.
He knows your needs.
Do not be Afraid!
God is with us!
Here and There

Many times Ive tried to see,
The God that s right in front of me
In my mind I try to discern
What I couldnt know if for years I learned
About my hazy brand of theology
Which happens to blind, rather than see
Within a faith that I tightly clung to
In all those times there was nothing to do,
But wait in time for the God I couldnt see
and know his love alive and working in me.
In all I did, it didnt seem fair
trying to reach God when hes Out There
Only could I find him when I quit trying to see
and realized he was in front of me.
I needed to find a gift called faith.
To see things when it all seemed like empty space.
The answer was a man and not a concept.
A bearded young guy from Nazareth.
Who would look you in the eyes with a joyous smile,
Hey look over here, Ive been with you all the while.
