Bound

My soul is dead and no one cares
except maybe the God whom I've forsaken
I try so hard to get up
The burden is heavy
I fall
I set down my cross,
I'm too weak to carry it,
maybe He won't notice,
chains return,
I'm bound once again.

The Word says

The Word says: "don't be ashamed" - I AM
The Word says: "forsake yourself" - I LOVE ME TOO MUCH
The Word says: "have no fear" - I'M TOO SCARED TO BELIEVE HIM
The Word says: "you can move mountains" - I'M TOO BUSY REMODELLING
ANTHILLS
The Word dies to say He loves me - Maybe he was right after all?

Spoiled

God gave Eden and all it's lovely fruit - Man thought knowledge would be more sweet
God freed the Jews from slavery - Golden Calves are much more fun
God sent His son into the world - Man Killed Him.
These three poems explore mans selfishness and pride in following God.  I wrote after
times of strong realisation of my own weakness, pride and sin
