Journal of My Experiences
We woke up early for the long plane ride home. Sad to leave, but too tired to keep going any longer. We had breakfast, packed our bags and loaded the bus, which took us to the airport. Again, checking in and security were quite smooth. Many of our bags were searched, but the people were quite polite about it. My attendant even repacked in very nicely.
I got some lunch � absolutely ridiculously priced. We sat around and traded emails as we waited for our flight. The flight was delayed by a full hour. Once on the plane, I ended up sitting with a family from Nigeria for most of the flight. They had two very young children. I tried to watch one of the French subtitled movies. I could make no sense of it. I also worked diligently on my journal, trying to fill in as much as I could. The flight was really smooth this time, and many of our youth were up hobnobbing around. Few sat in their seats. There were some World Youth Day pilgrims from St. Catherine�s on the plane as well, which was quite exciting. (They were everywhere in Paris. We even met some other Canadians from Quebec! Wonderful!).
Once we got home we had a very easy movement through customs, but had to wait forever to pick up our bags. There were many emotional goodbyes, as we had to depart.
Mr. and Mrs. Malyk drove us back to Guelph. At the parish, I frantically gathered up my things and began the drive home. It was very tired, had the music up, the window down, was drinking Pepsi and popping candies the whole way. I made it home safe and sound and shared my main memories with my family before eventually crashing. I woke up the next morning at 4 am. Jet lag was harder this time!
