The ‘Special Protocols’ folder in the Files section of the JP1 Users Group is where all of the special protocols are stored. The first place to look is in the Special Protocols spreadsheet. This spreadsheet bundles multiple special protocols for several different remotes into a single spreadsheet. To use the Special Protocols spreadsheet, you should do the following:
· Download the Special Protocols spreadsheet package from the Special Protocols folder.
· Open the Special Protocols spreadsheet in Excel and enable macros.
· Select the Special Protocol you wish to add to your remote.
· Select your remote type from the Remote drop down.
· Change the Device and Setup Code as desired.
· Read the Notes/Instructions for the Special Protocol.
· Copy the Device Upgrade and Protocol Upgrade into IR.
· Create a Keymove in IR as to trigger the Special Protocol as described in the Notes/Insructions section.
· Upload the special protocol to your remote and test it.
There are additional Special Protocols that are packaged individually in the Special Protocols folder as well. Many times, these are remote specific. To use these individually packages Special Protocols, you should download them, read the instructions, and follow them. Installation procedures are very similar to those described above.
