Once you have found an upgrade file for your device that you would like to try, you should do the following:
· Download the Keymap-Master spreadsheet from the Tools folder in the Files section of the JP1 Users Group.
· Download the upgrade files that you would like to try from the ‘3. Device Codes’ folder in the Files section of the JP1 Users Group.
· Read the JP1 for Beginners document to learn how to perform an upgrade using the Keymap-Master spreadsheet and the IR program, paying special attention to sections 5-7. Note that the JP1 for Beginners document explains how to create an upgrade from scratch. Since you are simply using/modifying an upgrade that someone else has already created, you will not have to do everything described in the document.
· Read the Readme file that comes bundled with the Keymap-Master spreadsheet.
· Open the Keymap-Master spreadsheet in Excel and enable macros. Note, if you do not have the Microsoft Excel Analysis Tookpak installed, you will need to install it.
· Load the upgrade file into the Keymap-Master spreadsheet using the Load button on the Setup tab.
· On the Setup tab, select your remote name from the Remote drop down list. If you want to, you can also change the Device Type and Setup Code.
· Review the Functions assigned to each button on the Buttons tab. Make any adjustments as desired.
· Copy and paste the Device Upgrade Code on the Setup tab into IR. Do the same with the Protocol Code if required.
· Change the one of the devices on the General tab in IR to reference the new Setup Code you have just loaded into IR.
· Upload the file from IR to your remote and test it.
