Responsibilities
Sometimes I think my learning what it means to be a slave is as hard on him
as it is on me. Maybe harder. Perfect obedience and absolute beauty are required
of me ... He is responsible for everything else.
I read that a person who only thinks of himself as an owner of a slave focuses
on what he can get from it and that a Master is interested in how he can improve
his property. The writer continued, saying that this is no light task because
the responsibility is not just for the benefit of the Master, but for the one he
owns as well.
I wonder if perhaps sometimes he wishes he had just left things alone and that
the slave joy would continue simply to be as she was ... pleasant and dutiful.
He still would have had his meals made and his laundry done. Perhaps I will ask
him.
