I Am Tall
I am tall. On earth I was considered taller than average and here, where it
seems so many are petite girls with delicate hands and tiny feet, I feel - and
appear - even taller.
One of the things that I learned from my earliest days in school dealt with
equality. Men and women are equal. More than a few of my teachers taught that
women were on a higher, superior level intellectually, emotionally and even
physically, though perhaps we were not as strong. Not long before being brought
to Gor, I had even begun to hear theories that woman - athletic women - could be
stronger than many men. Some implied that women truly were complete in
themselves and had no need of men except in the most minor ways.
"They can fold maps and pee out a campfire."
Not all Gorean men are nearly 7' tall and hugely muscular. Yet, even those who
are not more than half a foot taller than I have the ability to make me feel
quite small.
I am tall. I am intelligent. I am strong. And yet ....
The longer I am here, the less inclined I am to believe what I had been taught.
