| Did you know...??? Amy Tan made a cameo appearance in the movie. She was chatting with some guests just beyond a doorway in the first party scene. Ming-Na, the actor that played Jing-Mei "June" Woo also played another character named Jing-Mei on ER. Factual Errors: In one part of the movie, there was thunder and lightening at the same time. Thunder and lightening cannot occur simultaneously unless you are extremely close to the strike. Continutity: Near the beginning, when June is playing Mahjongg with the three mothers, they begin to speak Chinese. June objects, laughing that she cannot tell if they are cheating if they speak Chinese. The implication is that June does not speak Chinese. However, in the final scene, June speaks fluent Chinese without any help to her half-sisters that she has just met. |
