| ok everybody, i know it's been QUITE a while since i've done any sort of updating around here, but we appreciate your patience and continued support. so, with that said.....on to the news! basically, we've kinda been on a 'hiatus' of sorts for the past couple of months. we have mainly been focusing on gettting as many shows as possible. that being said, we've been learning that getting shows is not as easy as we've thought before. so, i guess the search for shows just goes on.....cest la vie. our last couple of shows were great. we played in springfield (@ fat cats) in early august with our friends in Hypnotic Kick and Split Shift. it was a great turn out, and that is where we debuted a couple of our newest songs, and our FREE 5 song CD! following that show we played a very last minute gig at harry's in northampton. it was a small show with this great band called 'Ribbon Candy' (these guys rock!). after a few weeks off, we were booked in west springfield (geraldines), this show was cancelled due to some club issues that were out of our control. sorry to anyone who tried to make it out there and didn't know about the last minute cancelation. so, our last show was in early october with 'noledge' @ the fat cat. it was a good turnout. everyone had a blast, and we can't wait to play out again.... remember, we need shows, and we'll play pretty much anywhere. care to book us? email us here or call (413)535-0047 for booking. so, what's in store for the future of joy kicks darkness? well, be on the lookout for a couple of side projects comming out of us (i.e. 'the prosperity sessions', richies project, and my little stint into some session work with a local R&B singer/songwritter). we're currently looking for another practice space (will this search ever end!?!?), once we get into a new home we'll start writting again. now, i mentioned a free CD earlier right? well, that's right...we got a new CD out and it's yours if you want it. just come see us at a show, or email us or whatever. eventually we are going to put the whole thing up on our IUMA site, so you can get it there too!
