As you gather 'round the table on Thanksgiving day this year
please try to remember all the things that you hold dear;
Your family, your home, your friends and your health--
things so much more important than fame or wealth

Remember America, where we live happy and free
Remember our soldiers--and the families they won't see
Pray for our country and for those in the lead
Pray there's an end to all the power and greed

Be grateful for your home, and the clothes on your back
for abundance of food, which other countries lack
Remember to thank our Creator for His love
Thank him for our freedom and His wisdom from above

Thank him for the awesome things like trees with falling leaves
For sunny days, and nature's ways enhanced by autumn's breeze
Be grateful for the things you have, take time to praise the Lord
Thank Him for the things you have that others can't afford

Look around you, you will see how blessed you really are
Thank him for the autumn moon that rests among the stars
Pray for the sick, the old, the frail and others such as these
If you really look--and really try--there's so much more to see

Be grateful for the things you have and worry not for more
For every window that is closed, God opens wide a door;
So bow your head, but lift your heart, as family gathers 'round
And know the Lord will hold us in His arms, so safe and sound
