In 2001, Mark transferred to Intel and was very excited about the possibilities of working for them.  He felt that good things were going to happen and they did.  He made friends quickly and gained respect from his superiors so fast that by the time he was there 6 months he had already been promoted.

It is unfortunate for all that knew him that he never got past those 6 months.  On February 11, 2002, Mark lost control of his motorcycle when he attempted to turn into our apartment complex too quickly and crashed into a tree.  He was on his way home from Applebee's in Chandler, AZ after receiving an emergency call from the Chandler Police Deparment.  They had come to the apartment to inform Mark that his sister Sue had passed away from complications with Diabetes.  From what we understand he was not informed that she died but that there was a family emergency and that he should come home.   He never made it.  The next visit from the Police department was to explain that Mark had died.

I was on my way home from Etna, CA when the accident happened.  I had been driving for 18 hours straight and walked in the door at 3 am.  Mike Ressa met me at the door and was acting weird.  He told me to go see Ethan, so I went into Ethan's room and he told me to sit down.  I was so tired I didn't get what was happening until Ethan started crying.  It was like being ripped into pieces...just litterally ripped because nothing makes sense...it sounds like lies but you know that your not being lied to.  It was devestating to explain to Mike and Tyler that their dad was gone.  It was a long time before anything felt real again.  Mark was buried at Monmouth Memorial Park (4201 State Route 33, Neptune, NJ 07753) on February 19, 2002 (his 32 birthday) along with his sister Sue.
