| URBANA 2000 |
| Urbana 2000 is a missions conference sponsered by Intervarsity Christian Fellowship. It is held every 3 years at the University of Illinois at Champagne-Urbana, Ill. This conference is an awesome place to go and learn of God's work in spreading His love among the nations. You can go to seminars, exhibits, exhibitor presentations, worship with 19,000 other people, and have an great time! |
| While at Urbana, you meet a huge variety of people from all over the world....yet despite there being 19,000 folks there....I still managed to randomly sit down at meals and seminars beside folks who somehow connected with my life....here are 3 of those random folks.... |
| Trip- Trip is Marshall's best friend from college (Marshall is my staff worker at UNCG's IV) Random Girl: On the bus, I met a girl from Elizabeth City....EC is about 30 minutes from Hertford (the tiny hick town I grew up in). Dan-Dan is a horn player from Boston....it may not seem like much to you....but I promise, to actually find another horn player is suprising...there aren't a huge amount of us. |
| Things I learned VERY QUICKLY at Urbana.... |
| 1.) GOD DID NOT MAKE ME FOR COLD WEATHER. 2.) My shoes have NO traction. 3.) In comparison to some schools...UNCG is a GREAT place to be. 4.) I seriously need to invest in a tobogan before EVER going north again in the winter. 5.) You can live without internet (barely). 6.) Sometimes, random strangers will offer you their clothing. (maybe it was the "I'm a poor frozen southerner" look on my face.) 7.) and finally.....winter is not natural.....(think about it...God made us to be naked....winter...snow...ice...cold.....not natural!) |

| The only downside to having ALL those people (although I guess it could be a plus in some cases) is that you hardly ever see anyone you know. So you meet new folks, make new friends....and take random pics in between! So here they are...my random pics.... |
| This was outdoors at Urbana...snow, snow, and more snow. Did I mention there was snow? Snow when we arrived....then it snowed more while we were there. Those white spots on the pic...that's snow...falling from the sky.... |
| This is Patrice....one of my roommates during Urbana....she is from Brazil and we had a great time together! This is what people commonly look like up there....at least, sane people. |

| These two pics are some of us "oldtimers" at Jason Carter's house. Jason graduated from here about a year or 2 ago....he moved up to Illinois and married his girlfriend....they actually live right off campus from where we were...so a bunch of us HAD to go visit and hang for a while...here a few of us are....hanging on his couch.... |
