Food for Thought!

Cobb Salads are wonderful to eat for a lunch or a dinner. Get a low-fat dressing and you will be in Heaven! Try low-fat honey mustard or a low-fat ranch.

Egg-White omelets are so healthy and good for you, and they taste really good. With a little bit of cheese and some veggies, maybe add some chicken or turkey, even some lean ham. And you have quite such a tasty omelet, you might never want to eat regular egg omelets again. If you are a big toast person, try dark rye bread, or whole wheat bread. Try and stay away from the white-flour breads, they have alot of sugar and some weird ingredients.

Frozen veggies are so much better for you than canned veggies. They are really fresher and have a much better quality taste to them. Some really good frozen veggies that thaw out well and taste absolutely divine are: Broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, squash, baby onions, lima beans, snowpeas, water chestnuts, red onions, green beans, and frozen fruit too.

Bagels are really good too. I usually would eat them in the morning though, for me the carbs are alot and they give me the energy I need to get through my busy morning. I don't eat alot of bread-like foods during the afternoon or in the evening, because for some people, carbs are easier to burn off more during the early hours of the day. After that they get harder to digest and sometimes harder to burn off, and they can store as extra fat in the body. But some good bagels to eat are Blueberry,cinnamon-rasin,plain,onion,wheat,sundried-tomato, and the ET bagel, which stands for The Everything Bagel.

There are also some really great breakfeast bars out there: like nutra-grain bars, cereal bars, and protein bars.

Lean meats are good for the body also, Chicken and Turkey(white- meat only), Lean ham, lean roast beef, Trim steaks(without marble or excess fat on them), lean corned beef.

Fish is great for the body. Some really good fish are Basa, Grouper,Tilapia,Cod,Salmon Steaks. All in the hope that you don't get them fried, but rather broiled or grilled. Some shell fish is good for you also: Lobster, shrimp, scallops, clams, crab legs. But don't use too much of that garlic butter sauce!
