"Ugh! Groan! Grunt!" Those words may seem strange to begin a sentence with, but they are in my daily vocabulary. Carrying around 120 extra pounds is NOT a good thing.
If you want to know what carrying 120 extra pounds feels like...go get a 20 pound bag of beans, charcoal...ANYTHING....pick it up and multiply that by 6! OUCH!
Not only do these extra pounds hurt physically, but also emotionally. Have you ever thought about what it might feel like to have to ask a waitress not to take you to a booth in a restaurant, while walking behind her, as she is heading for one or ask for seat belt extensions on airplanes and amusement parks? People larger than me have an even longer list of embarrassing situations. It is extremely humiliating. Like the song that you are listening to "Love Hurts"...so does fat!
You may be reading this and saying to yourselfWell, you got yourself there lady! or Just dont overeat! or "Just push yourself away from the table! or Just eat a little lessexercise a little more! or Use God to help you! or Just use willpower! or Imagine yourself thin! or Think how GOOD you would feel if you just lost weight! or Join Weight-Watchers...people have lost on that program! or Try Adkins Dietlots of people are losing a lot of weight on it! or Food is an addiction go to Overeaters Anonymous! or Dont you want to be around for your grandchildren? or Do it for yourself!! or Just use self-discipline! The list goes on and on and on. I have heard it all and done it all for about 43 years (I am 53), yet my weight has continued to climb.
So...I am electing to have Gastric Bypass surgery, and, for the first time in many, many years.....I am so hopeful!! |
