Well, this will be short and sweet!!!! I only had 5 hours up there and hard to get everything in.
Got into Taft about 8:30 Monday morning.....first went to the Cemetery to take care of some business. :>) I wanted to talk to the grounds keeper about pulling out Grandpa and Grandma Dugas's flower jars.....dad and I tried in Nov. but was rusted in. So now Grandpa and Grandma Dugas have new flower jars and Joe and Nicole's job, before they go back home is to get the recycled flowers from the house, and put in. Finally got out to the house about 9:30 and Nicole was sleeping on the couch...
Huggys, huggys, from dad and Joe and eventually from Nicole....sleeping beauty. Sat and visited for a bit, then I wanted to put the card maker program on dad's computer (it is one that I have had and is a very easy one to start out with....so WATCH OUT EVERYONE....HOMEMADE CARDS FROM DAD NOW) Hopefully! Before installing the program, I suggested to Joe that dad open up his Christmas Gifts from he and I....so he did. I think he is going to really like the new lazer mouse (I forget now what it is called).....has a roller for him to scroll, doesn't need a mat, and he can turn pages while surfing by the click on the sides. We also got him one of those "gel" things that is placed along the edge of the keyboard to rest his hands on while typing........sure glad he was honest, cause he said "I DON'T TYPE LIKE ALL OF YOU" so he really didn't need it or want it....so he will be exchanging it at Office Max! Sure glad Joe was there cause I didn't know that you had to install that new mouse with a program cd.....our dear Joe did good! So we worked with him showing him how to use it , then got on with the Card Maker program (which he is soooo excited about playing with and using). It is a very simple one, and I think he will do just fine with it.....WON'T YOU DAD!!!! Getting hungry so I put the chile beans on the stove that I made and brought up, and we cranked up the barbecue to cook some burgers! Yum, yum lunch and they will have beans for tomorrow also...(sure glad i am not sticking around to get the after affects)..HA, HA I took some snaps and movies while there....also took some snaps at the cemetery showing the Christmas poinsettias that I had brought up last month.. had to make their resting place look Christmassy like some of the others! I also took a picture of Uncle Hubert's marker with the old flowers from daddy and mom's place. Now his place looks nice. Joyce, I thought you might want to put Uncle Hubert's marker on the site under his name incase any of his kids have never seen it. I am sure that they may have ordered it but never maybe seen it since they don't go to Taft...Barbara might like to see it..girls are like that. Oh yeah Joyce, I had almost forgot to go check the shed for the Nativity Scene, there they were and I took a picture. I wrapped them back up and put them back as I found them...they are in beautiful shape and I had forgotten how tall they were. I also found some poinsettias out there that just needed "blowing" a bit to rid the dust, went to the back room....pulled out a little material Christmas tree that Shirley Werling had made many years ago, and the bigger one that I had made many years ago.....plus a cute other Christmas decoration I found and brought them all in the house to make the house look a bit like the spirit of Christmas. Now it looks like Christmas in there. Oh man, time was running out and it was time for me to go.....bye, bye Joe, Nicole, Dad.........gotta go before it is dark by the time I get home....(I won't drive when it is dark....lights bother me). |
