XPW General Information

Xtreme Championship Wrestling is owned by a man named Rob Black. Black was highly-involved in the adult-film and porn industry, and, after gaining tons of money in those businesses, decided to enter the ever-growing business of Professional Wrestling. So, in late 1999, Black went to work, and created Xtreme Championship Wrestling, and headquartered it in Southern California, due to CA's lack of pro-wrestling federations. XPW was, and still is, So-Cal's premier hardcore-wrestling promotion, putting on small show's in California's high school gyms and small auditoriums. They have a weekly television show that air's on So-Cal's KJLA, and put on regular supercards that are available across the country on video, and can be purchased at various stores across the U.S. I live in Connecticut, and my local F.Y.E. (For Your Entertainment, an entertainment store-chain across the country with videos, DVD's, magazines, etc.) has a section of XPW videos for sale.

With Extreme Championship Wrestling going out of business in early 2001, many hardcore-wrestling fans have turned to XPW to get their weekly dose of hard-hitting grappling action.

XPW has showcased many former-"Big Three" superstars at their shows. Former-ECW World Champions Terry Funk, Sabu, "The Franchise," Shane Douglas, and The Sandman have paid dues in ECW. Other former-ECW'ers Chris Candido, Axl Rotten, Big Dick Dudley, John Kronus, Vic Grimes, Mustafa, "The Original Gangsta," New Jack, and former-ECW World Tag Team Champions The Pitbulls (Pitbull #1 & Pitbull #2) are among the ever-growing list who've wrestled in XPW. Well-known wrestling valets such as Jasmin St. Claire, Major Gunns, Tammy Lynn Sytch, and even the legendary Miss Hyatt have strutted their assets in XPW. XPW's former-WCW Cruiserweight talent is comprised of legendary Luchadore names like Juventud Guerrera, Psychosis, and Konnan. Other former-WCW alumni that have competed in XPW include Vampiro and less-known names like Damien 666 and Halloween, who were regulars on Nitro in the years of '97 and '98, and now comprise the XPW tag team, "Mexico's Most Wanted." Foreign hardcore legends like Atushi Onita and Abdullah the Butcher have even appeared in XPW. XPW has picked up some premier independent talent like "The Fallen Angel," Chris Daniels, Michael Modest, Tracy Smothers, Johnny Webb, Steve Rizzono, and Kid Kaos, all extroadinary workers in their own right, to wrestle at their shows. Mexican Luchadores like XCalibur, Rising Son, Pilot Sicida, Superboy, and Super Dragon have somersaulted all over XPW rings. Even Johnny Grunge and Rocco Rock, who combine to form the legendary "Public Enemy" tag team, have kicked @$$es all over the ring in XPW.

At one of ECW's last Pay-Per-Views, HeatWave 2000, which took place in So-Cal, XPW talent like Supreme, Kristi Myst, and Johnny Webb, bought ringside seats, and when one ECW wrestler was coming down the aisle to the ring, the unthinkable happened. Supreme shot up from his seat and started attacking him, while Myst, Webb, and some other XPW'ers got up and pulled off their ECW shirts, revealing XPW ones, getting great publicity for the promotion on nationwide Pay-Per-View. All the XPW'ers were taken away by police and ringside security, but their influence had still been felt on the show. When ECW went out of business in early 2001, many of it's fans turned to XPW for it's weekly dose of hardcore, hard-hitting action. This is XPW's trademark.

XPW provides it's fans with a mix of high-flying wrestling and a hardcore style matched by none other, using barbed-wire, flourescent light-bulbs, staple-guns, thumbtacks, pizza-cutters, beds of nails, and, even on some very rare occasions, fire! They have an annual, "King of the Deathmatch Tournament," where talent of their's will wrestle and fight in a tournament, where the two finalists will challenge eachother in the final round, with the winner winning the, "XPW King of the Deathmatch Title." Throughout the tournament, all of the above weapons will be used, and talent is almost always a bloody mess by the time their matches are over. In the final match, the stipulation is that the match is an, "Exploding Ring Deathmatch," where, if there isn't a winner within a certain amount of time, the ring will explode, and, yes, that has happened!

XPW's current World Title contenders are Johnny Webb, The Sandman, Homeless Jimmy, New Jack, Damien Steele, Vampiro, and The Messiah. Their current K.O.T.D.M. contenders are Supreme, Messiah, Kronus, Grimes, and New Jack. Their mid-carders are Kid Kaos, Dynamite D, Pogo the Clown, Juventud Guerrera, Psychosis, G.Q. Money, Konnan, Kraq, TOOL, Homeless Jimmy, Kronus, Grimes, Supreme, T.J. Rush, and Steve Rizzono. Their tag teams are Mexico's Most Wanted, Guerantai (Nozawa and Kikuzawa), and Kraq &, Angel. It's main managers are Lizzie Borden (managing Rob Black and Supreme), Veronica Caine (Money, Rush, and Rizzono), Cypher (Tool), Rob Black (who manages a bunch of Superstars, namely Johnny Webb, Vic Grimes, John Kronus, and The Messiah), Josh Lazie (Sabu), Lady Victoria (Mexico's Most Wanted), Kristi Myst (Supreme), and Jessica Darlin (Johnny Webb). Their main high-flyers are Kaos, Juvi, Psychosis, Konnan, Super Dragon, Rising Son, Pilot Suicida, Superboy, and XCalibur. They even have their own female beauties (who they refer to as, "X-Girls"), who are currently Lizzie Borden (Black's real-life wife), Veronica Caine, and Major Gunns.

The main faces of the promotion include Sandman, New Jack, Jimmy, Juvi, Major Gunns, Pogo, Dynamite D, Kaos, Psychosis, Konnan, and Supreme, while the main heels are Webb, Vampiro, Messiah, Kronus, Grimes, Money, Kraq, Kronus, Grimes, Rush, Lizzie, Black, Guerantai, and Rizzono. XPW's main stables are The Black Army (Grimes, Messiah, Kronus, Webb, and managers Lizzie and Black), The Enterprise (Rush, Money, Rizzono, and their manager, Veronica Caine), Kraq, Kronus, & Angel, and Mexico's Most Wanted (Damien 666, Halloween, Konnan, and their manager, Victoria). The most hardcore superstars of XPW are New Jack, Sandman, Grimes, Kronus, Supreme, Webb, and Messiah, while it's greatest pure wrestlers are Dynamite D, Steve Rizzono, Kid Kaos, Juvi, Konnan, Psychosis, Money, XCalibur, Superboy, Super Dragon, Rising Son, and Pilot Suicida. XPW wrestlers to watch who are sure to become some of the brightest superstars in the entire business are Dynamite D, Rizzono, and, without a doubt, Kaos, who fans have, as of late, been going crazy over due to his spectacular technical skills, extroadinary high-flying antics, and, when needed, hardcore brutality. Many have even compared him to superstars like Rob Van Dam, Rey Mysterio Jr., and Eddie Guerrero.

XPW holds annual supercards, like Damage Inc., Retribution, Halloween In Hell, My Bloody Valentine (the annual K.O.T.D.M. Tournament), Rapture, Payback's A Bitch, Dismembered in November, Redemption, The Night XPW Stood Still, and, in January, New Year's Revolution. XPW's commentators are Larry Rivera and Kris Kloss.
