INTRODUCING - Superstar Steve

At the June 12 Ring of Honor event in Dayton, OH, Superstar Steve will make his debut for the promotion, but it won't be his first major wrestling gig, unlike is the case for many wrestlers others when they're debuting for ROH. Steve has already garnered some attention on the local level in the Iowa and Missouri regions, and also overseas in Japan. Steve was trained by the legendary Harley Race at the Harley Race Wrestling Academy in Eldon, MO, and quickly became a top prospect in Race's World League Wrestling, the promotion affiliated with the academy. Just a few months into his wrestling career, WCW and WWE scouts were watching him intently, so much - in February 2001 - Steve received a few WWE (then WWF) matches, one of which saw him team up with his WLW colleague, "All That" Matt Murphy, against Kaientai (Taka Michinoku & Shoichi Funaki). Steve worked the match (which aired on the February 24, 2001 edition of the WWF Jakked program) under the alias, "Steve Fender." A run in WCW never came to be, as WWE bought it out a month later, but Steve remained focused on his career, and - while his main objective was to live up to his "Superstar" moniker in WLW and other local promotions - he continued to work occasional dark matches for WWE when it came to the Missouri area.

A day before his tag team match aired on Jakked, Steve teamed with Murphy to defeat Butch Reed and WWE superstar The Big Boss Man, which was one of Steve's most important victories up until that point.

Shortly after making his WLW debut, Steve joined the promotion's "Gold Exchange" stable, in which he was managed by Johnny Gold and tag teamed with Murphy, the same guy he appeared on Jakked alongside of. On the rare occasions that he wasn't busy teaming with Murphy in WLW, Steve was combatting rivals Trevor Rhodes and Wild Wade Chism, and at one point ran the third man of that group, Bull Schmitt, out of WLW permanently. Most of Steve's matches - at least in WLW - saw him tag team with Murphy, though. The duo won the promotion's tag team titles three times together and impressed so many people that they were invited on a tour of Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan. Steve made his NOAH debut on July 14, 2001 by defeating Makato Hashi via pinfall in the show's opening match. It was in just his third match for NOAH that he participated in a high-profile, eight-man tag team match main event, where he competed against the legendary Mitsuharu Misawa and teamed with Vader, former-ECW star 2 Cold Scorpio, and Mike Modest. Throughout the rest of his first tour for NOAH - which lasted from July 14 till July 27 - Steve had squared off against the likes of Daisuke Ikeda, KENTA, Naomichi Marufuji, Yoshinari Ogawa, and even Jun Akiyama. Steve's second tour for NOAH lasted from late August to early September, and saw him team with Vader, Scorpio, and Matt Murphy, and wrestle against the likes of Akira Taue, Yoshinobu Kanemaru, Mike Modest, Donovan Morgan, and others. Steve continued to work for NOAH into October, a month in which he formed a regular tag team with fellow gajin (foreigner) Richard Slinger. He finally returned to the U.S. full-time in late October 2001

Steve also competes for New Dimension Wrestling, Ozark Championship Wrestling on occasion.
