Luke debuted in XPW half a month earlier than Sonjay debuted in CZW. Luke's first appearance in XPW came on June 29, 2002 as a member of a tag team called, "The Altar Boys," in which he teamed with Altar Boy Matthew. The two wrestled AWC & Shady in a first round match of the tournament that was being held to crown inaugural XPW Tag Team Champions. Although The Altar Boys lost that match to the more experienced duo, both altar boys turned a lot of heads and made quite an impression in their XPW debuts. It was clear from his first match in XPW that Luke was more than just a jobber and was instead a newcomer that had to be taken seriously, a contention backed up by his flawless execution of highspots like a Phoenix (Corkscrew 450º) Splash and a Running Leaping Moonsault Press over the ropes and to the outside during the tag team match. Matthew never appeared in XPW again and rumors surfaced that the reason was due to personal problems he had to attend to. This meant that Luke - at least for the timebeing - would be on his own as a singles wrestler in XPW.

On the next XPW show - Night of Champions: Baptized In Blood 3 on July 20 - Luke advanced to the quarterfinal round of the third annual XPW King of the Death Match Tournament and although he was eliminated by Supreme (who was the eventual winner of the event), the effort he put forth in that one night continued to legitimize his rising status in XPW. Then, on October 31 at Hostile Takeover, Luke made his debut at Viking Hall in Philadelphia, PA in what many consider to be his breakout match in XPW. He battled two ECW alums - his trainer, "Vicious" Vic Grimes, and current-WWE star Nunzio (who wrestled the match under his ECW alias of "Little Guido") - in an elimination match. Like in his XPW debut, it wasn't the result of the match that mattered because - although Luke was eliminated first out of the two men - the performance he provided was teriffic. On one occasion during the match, he performed a move where he stood on the ring apron, springboarded onto the top ring rope, and delivered one of the most amazing plancha variations ever seen - a corkscrew somersault body attack that received outstanding hang-time that has to be seen to believed. The next month on October 5, Luke's impressive efforts paid off as he obtained some revenge on Supreme for eliminating him from the death match tournaments earlier in the year by capturing the XPW King of the Death Match Title from the aptly named "Walking House of Horrors." The finish came when Luke leaped off of a platform and delivered a 450º Splash that sent Supreme crashing through a table set up below. Luke defended his newly-won title the next month at Exit Sandman in a three-way match between himself, "The Hardcore Homo" Angel, and Supreme. The match is considered one of the most insane death matches in XPW history, to the point that XPW has yet to release it in full and instead plans on conserving the unique footage to feature it on future "Best of" home videos, DVDs, and/or Pay-Per-Views. Then, on December 21 at XPW Merry F'n X-Mas (one week after he originally won the title), Luke dropped the XPW King of the Deathmatch Title to the former-champion, Supreme. Like the one a month earlier, the death match - which was dubbed as the first-ever "House of Horrors" Match in XPW history - was so chaotic that XPW is reserving it for future release.

TOUGHNESS: This is one category where one of these wrestlers is the winner, far and away. Luke has absorbed amazing amounts of punishment in the many death matches that he's competed in during his XPW tenure. He advanced to the quarterfinals round of the third annual XPW King of the Death Match Tournament in July 2002. His most prominent opponent in death matches has been Supreme. In their first match together, Luke was cut open with broken glass and a light tube and landed on a pile of barbed-wire after missing an attempted Infared-style Splash off of the top turnbuckle. Their feud continued into December 2002 and shockingly featured Luke capturing the XPW King of the Death Match Title from the "Human Horror Film" at Fallout. The next month at Exit Sandman, Luke successfully defended his title against both "The Hardcore Homo" Angel and Supreme, but en route to doing so he had to absorb the damage that came from being tossed off of a piece of scaffolding and through a table that was set up on the cold, hard concrete! Luke finally dropped the title back to Supreme in December, but it required the merciless use of thumb tacks before Supreme regained the title in the only "House of Horrors" match in XPW history. In addition to his death match history, Luke has taken stiff beatings from his trainer, "Vicious" Vic Grimes, in both the California Wrestling Alliance and in XPW.

AERIAL ABILITY: Both Luke and Sonjay are two of the premiere high-flyers on the indy circuit. The move that Sonjay uses to win most of his matches, the Hindusault, is a Corkscrew 450º Splash (a.k.a. a Phoenix Splash) off of the top turnbuckle, while Luke often rotates between that move and a regular (non-corkscrew) 450º Splash off of the top buckle as his finisher. Arguably even more so than the Hindusault, the Standing Shooting Star Press is the most impressive manuever in Sonjay's repertoire. Luke has yet to be seen doing a version of that move off of the top buckle or let alone a version of it from a standing position, but he has used a multi-rotating version (off of the top buckle) of the Phoenix Splash, very similar to The Amazing Red's incredible Infared Splash. Luke is the first wrestler to use a Moonsault from a standing position on the outside of the middle ring rope and back into the ring on a regular basis (he calls this move the Halo) and he also recently adopted beautiful versions of the Flying Leg Drop and the Springboard Dropkick. Besides the two versions of the 450º and the Halo, Luke performed a Running Leaping Moonsault Attack over the top ring rope and out to ringside at Liberty or Death and a Slingshot Corkscrew Somersault Attack off of the top ringrope and out to ringside at Hostile Takeover, a spot that obtained hang-time that must be seen to be believed. Meanwhile, Sonjay's other signature aerial moves (besides the Hindusault and Standing SSP) include the Bombay 'Rana (a Somersault Huracanrana off of the top buckle), a Moonsault off of the top buckle into a Double-Foot Stomp to his foe's chest, the Hindu Press (a Running No-Handed Springboard into a Corkscrew [360º] Crossbody Block Suicida), and a multi-revolution Tilt-a-Whirl Swinging DDT.
