John was born in Bakersfield, California. He moved to Arco, Idaho at age 12. He graduated from Butte County High School in 1956. His father, Oakley T. Warren, passed away in 1967. His mother, Gladys Warren, passed away in 1988. His sister, Ina Merrill, lives in Orinda, Ca.


I am active with the Special Olympics Bowling, and coach a special education bowling league. I am the secretary and co-editor of the newsletter for the local chapter of Vietnam Veterans of America and also secretary of the Georgia State Council for the Vietnam Veterans of America. I volunteer at the Veteran's Hospital driving a van for the DAV, transporting veterans. I bowl on a seniors bowling league and enjoy "camping" in our motorhome every chance I get.

Our son John, 40, is married to a wonderful girl, Renee� and has 3 children- Kelly 19, Johnny Oakley 12 and Renee�s son Britt who is 9.

Joanna, our daughter, who just turned 37, is mentally handicapped, and lives at home. She works in a workshop where she canes chairs and does beautiful embroidery work. She is also on the bowling league and has competed in bowling special Olympics. She has won 2 gold medals, 1 silver, 1 bronze and many trophies.
