Back On the Shelf
This is the space where I unload whatever thoughts pass through my head. It may or may not be often that I post.
Summer goes too fast

It seems that each summer is slower coming and faster going. There was a chill in the air this morning. I had to put on a sweatshirt at the golf course.

Patsy and I picked our first ripe tomatoes today. I bought the plants, racks and planted them in her backyard. She has a perfect spot for growing veggies. I also picked a green pepper we grew. I'll use the pepper in some Italian soup I'm making tomorrow.

I am convinced that R had West Nile virus. The doctor didn't test him for it but, all the symptoms were there. There's a lot of it here and there's no treatment for it. He was one sick guy for about a week. I wasn't sure a week ago today that he'd even be around for long. It left him so weak and tired. He'll be home tonight from his week in Alpine, WY. It'll be golf tournament time again Saturday. I hope he's feeling well enough to play.

I've been planning my Christmas gifts this week. I've found some cool stuff for the kids and parents. They are the only ones I buy gifts for. I make a donation to the Post Register Goodfellow Fund in lieu of gifts for the rest of the family. There are people in the community who have needs that gratefully my family doesn't have. I think it's wrong to buy gifts just because it's a holiday and when no one really needs anything. That's just me though.
