I have much admiration for mothers in general. Oprah's show today was a real tribute to mothers around the world. The Eskimo mom impressed me. The Norwegian mom made the best case for mommies to me. She said that 99% of Norwegian mothers breast-feed their babies (anywhere they want.) I've always been about breast-feeding for the baby and for the mom. One of the best parts of being a woman and a mother is breast-feeding. I loved it. Norway is all for supporting the family by giving them time off to care for their babies. Both parents are very involved in the family. I like that part. Norway shuns spanking children. I like that, too. They have one of the lowest crime rates in the world. They are an open, liberal society where they and their children thrive. Could we learn from them? I think so.
