Hmm...the
signs are positive. With the fall bringing in a lot of Oscar
worthy flicks to your screens, this movie looks like the last
popcorn action flicks left. And that could mean that this film
might take it all when the flick opens. And trust me, the
signs does get even better when you realise that all the
biggies slated to open on this date have reshuffled their
dates meaning The
Rundown
looks all set to open right at the top of the charts. But how
long will it stay there is another question you can ponder on
later. The only competition right now seems to be a Ben
Stiller comedy, which by the way is also a strong contender
too.

But
first things first...The Rock is back! After a respectably
decent starring role in The Scorpion King, famous WWE wrestler
Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock once again gets ready for the lead
action role in the flick The
Rundown...and
to keep him company is none other than Mr.Stifler Sean William
Scott and veteran Christopher Walken. Didn't I tell you the
signs were good.
Beck
is a bounty hunter who is right now facing a few debt problems
and needs to do this one last job and give it all up forever.
So off he goes into the Amazon in order to bring back an
"escaped convict".
However
once he reaches deep in the jungles of the Amazon, he realises
that his so-called dangerous convict is actually the son of
the guy who hired Beck in the first place, a loud mouthed
Travis (Sean William). And though Beck is the kind of guy who
can survive it all, the mouth of Travis gets a little too much
for even Beck. And Travis is here in the first place in search
of some gold mines.
And
this search brings them right into the evil kingpin Hatcher
(Christopher Walken) who too is after the treasures that the
forest has to offer. And things get only interesting when you
have a local like Mariana (Rosario Dawson) who knows a lot
more secrets that anyone else.
And
if all these aren't enough headaches for Beck, the jungles
have a couple of them of its own too.
This
project was formerly titled HELLDORADO, which was a
cool title in my opinion. I wonder why or what prompted the
makers to change it to something so ordinary as The
Rundown.
Maybe they just don't want to mess around with anything to do
with hell.
Hmm,
actually the Rock has a long way to go before you can
seriously consider him as an 'actor'. But with the kind of
personality and charisma that he exudes, I am sure with the
right movies he can make a real good impact. And obviously all
his fans are hoping that Rundown is one such right movie.

Even
if the Rock fails to sizzle, I am sure I can count on the rest
of the cast to do the job for him and save the skin.
Christopher Walken is going to make something special out of
his B-grade villain character. And surely you can expect Sean
William Scott to 'rock' the house with his jokes and
one-liners. He has always been exceptional in these supporting
roles and I expect the same from him this time around too.
Budget
of 80 million, I hear...my god! Now which part of the Amazon
did they drown that much money, I can't wait to find
out.
and
PS....Arnold Shwarzenneger, yesterday's bigtime action
hero and tomorrow's possible Governor, is slated to have a
special cameo appearance in the flick.

So
how adventurous will things get when the 'Rock' meets the 'Stifler'?
Both have great fan following too, mind you!
