Jerry Falk (Jason Biggs) is an upcoming writer in Manhattan. He falls head over heels for this aspiring actress Amanda (Christina Ricci). But all of a sudden, she is hardly even interested in him and Jerry has no clue as to why. So Falk spends his time trying to rekindle Amanda's love for him.

Also you get to meet Jerry's manager Harvey (Danny De Vito) and his new good friend, who is also a writer, David Dobel (Woody Allen). Suddenly it is Dobel who Jerry looks up for advice to deal with his own relationship that is 'anything else' but ordinary.

Woody Allen movies always have been playing at a different level of things. But mind you, the characters are usually written for Allen himself. So it is quite interesting to see how Jason Biggs get under the skin of your typical confused Allen character.

And that brings us to Jason Biggs. Not your first choice for a Woody Allen movie, is he? But looks like Biggs is getting to expand into things more than just 'American Pie'.

Christina Ricci plays the lady love who has more to her than what meets the eye.

Obviously thought it prestigiously opened the Venice Film festival, it also has to be noted that so far it has been receiving only 'disappointing' claims. Obviously you can expect a romantic comedy that is different from everything else out there, but still it fails to meet the demanding requirements of a Woody Allen genius.

Anything Else was the big choice to kick off this year's Venice Film Festival. But how much power does an Allen work hold over the US audiences is worth a look. Ofcourse Allen movies always had limited potential, but then again, Allen has always been something more.
