| On the internet, briefly research life inside the trenches; evaluate what type of life these soldiers lived.
Journal # 3 Musturd gas filled the air and made it extremely hard to breathe. Everyday was acted like it was the last day for the soldiers. Soldiers were so hungry that they actually killed rats to eat, and used sawdust to thicking their stews. In the trenches, soldiers always became tired from jumping out and in. It was also said that water would sometimes sink into the trenches, reaching the way to their knees. Searching through the internet, I found dialogues of soldiers that actually fought in the trenches saying that "it was hell on earth" and "war with trenches resulted in death for many." It's hard for the soldiers to explain how it feels in a war, and most of the people have no idea what actually goes on. |
