Causes of WW1 include Aggressive Nationalism, Tangled Alliances, and the arms race. The straw that broke the camel�s back was when Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated.

The Specific cause of WW1 was when Archduke Franz Ferdinand were assassinated on July 28, 1914.

3.  How did the soldiers react as they went off to war? Why?

Most soldiers were initially excited to go off to war at the beginning of the war. This is because they wanted to find glory and honor and wanted to become heroes.
