Jovian Parry is an up-and-coming New Zealand artist.

He has been a professional artist for only a matter of months, but already his work is in high demand with offers to exhibit his paintings from several leading galleries in Whangarei, Paihia and Russell . The first viewing of his work at 'ArtBeat 2002', Whangarei, was a resounding success ,with all 17 paintings either selling before the opening or on the day. Jovian is a young talent at only 18 years old, having left the 7th Form in July 2002 to explore, experiment and develop his own style of work after 4 years of leading his school in all internal and external Art exams; (including Highly Commended Awards in both the Pacific Businessmens' Art Awards,2001 and the Northland Society Of Arts "Emphasis On Small" Exhibition 2002).

His preferred medium is acrylic paint on canvas. In his current work he is concentrating on depicting his own personal perception of the Northland coastline. He lives at Matapouri Bay, and this allows him easy access to the beautiful scenery of the Tutukaka Coast. In addition to his landscapes, Jovian paints multi-levelled studies of Pacific woven art, using bright, surreal colours. He also paints and draws portraits by commission. Jovians debut exhibition will be held at Reyburn House Art Gallery, Whangarei, mid-year 2003.
