I'm already confused as it is, you don't need to drive me even more off the cliff okay? FYI: FYI means For Your Information FYI: POV stands for Point Of View, sometimes I use it to change perspectives. FYI: I know that I'm spelling Jedite as Jadeite and it's wrong, but I like it that way. Beside, it's my story. Jedite reminds me of Jed from the Beverly Hill Billies. FYI: Just for you people who think I'm insane for getting Ken or Jupiter Knight together with Lita, I'm not insane! In the manga, Lita saves Ken, Ken is Lita's boyfriend, Ken finds out he's Sailor Jupiter. That's all that the manga says, but I added more to it. Besides, I AM insane! Why would a sane person spend half of the day on the Net looking for Sailor Moon info and pics? Serena...........Serena Tsukino Amy..............Ami Mizuno Raye.............Rei Hino Lita.............Makoto Kino Mina ............Minako Aino Darien (Prince Endymion)...........Mamoru Chiba I'll be using the NA version if that's okay... REVOLUTIONS OF THE MOON Part Six "Nephy! I love you too!" Lita exclaimed and threw her arms around him, in a big bear hug. "You do?" Nephryte asked, surprised at this reaction. He had been expecting something more or less confusing. "Yes! I do! I loved you the first day I saw you!" Lita whispered in his ear. "But what about the other guy?" Nephryte asked, wondering why Lita was giving up so fast on her boyfriend. "What other guy?" Lita asked, "Oh him! Well, forget about him. I love you and that's all that matters. He can go lie in the gutter for all I care. I don't love him. It's you that I love." Nephryte kissed Lita fully on the lips.... ....that never happened. Nephryte had fantasized that all during the breif period between his confession of love and Lita's real reaction. "What?!" Lita asked, wondering if she heard right, praying that she didn't. Nephryte looked into her emerald green eyes, unafraid of the truth, "I am in love with you." Lita's jaw dropped open. She had heard right. This man, almost a total stranger just said he loved her? She had only met him a handful of times and now he said he loved her? "You love me?" Lita asked softly, pointing to herself. She wished he was talking about someone else. "Yes, I do." Nephryte said it as if a wedding vow. Lita attempted a nervous smile, "How can you say that when you don't even know me?" Nephryte remembered this conversation as if it were yesterday. They had been standing in one of the halls of Jupiter Estate and Nephryte just confessed her love for him. "You love me?" Princess Jupiter asked. "Yes, Princess. I love you more than sunshine. I love you more than rain. Jupiter, I love you more than life itself." Nephryte recited as if he were Shakespere himself. Princess Jupiter giggled nervously, then said coyly, "General Nephryte! How can you say that? You've known me only but half. You don't know the other half of me." Nephryte nodded solemnly, "Yes, that is true. But what I say is also true. How can something like love be judged by time itself? What about you? Do you feel the same?" Princess Jupiter's bright eyes turned darker, casting shadows over his own heart. She looked at him straight in the eyes and opened her mouth to speak, "General Nephryte, I've only met you a handful of times-" Nephryte didn't like where this was going. It sounded as if she was going to say something that would hurt him. "-but I feel as if I've known you a lifetime. I really, greatly like you. But I'm afraid I can't make that commitment." Princess Jupiter shook her head sadly. "What do you mean? You just said you really liked me. Why can't you make that commitment?" Nephryte asked, his heart wounded. "I've been chosen to be a protector of the Moon Princess, as with all the other planet princesses. I can't do anything that will take me away from my duty. They forbid it." Princess Jupiter explained. "What do you mean they forbid it? It's your life to choose who to like and who to commit to. They can't forbid your heart to do so. Who forbade such a thing?" Nephryte demanded. Who could be so cruel, to make such a flower of a girl not allowed to love? "The Moon Princess. I have to be totally devoted to protecting her." Princess Jupiter said softly, a hint of sadness in her voice. Looking back at that, Nephryte began to wonder if he could really keep the promise he made with Darien. The promise to give Sailor Moon a chance, that she changed for the better. He looked at Lita, who still had her green eyes on him. She seemed to be looking at him, but not seeing anything. "Lita, I don't give away my friendship easily. Which makes my love, even harder to give. But I love you and love cannot be measured by time. It is measure by the feeling itself." Nephryte said softly to her. "Why?" Lita said in almost a whisper. She was looking intensely at the wall behind him, her eyes unfocused on him. "Because we were destined together in the Silver Millenium. Although this is the present, not the past, the feeling still exist in me. I love you more than life itself." Nephryte explained everything he left out when he told her about the Silver Millenium. He told her of the pain, the small bits of joy when they were together, and of Princess Serenity and her cruel ways. "Why can't I remember anything?" Lita pleaded. She felt as if she had walked in on someone elses conversation and didn't know anything that they were talking about. "I don't know. It puzzles me why I can remember, but the rest of you can't. But don't you feel anything when you're with me? Whenever I am with you, or even close to you, I feel as if I can jump over the tallest building. I feel like I'm floating on a sea of never ending bliss. Why? Because I'm in love with you." Nephryte said openly. Lita shifted her eyes onto the carpet, "I wish you would stop using that word." Nephryte looked at her strangely, "Don't you feel anything for me?" He asked again. Lita got up and walked to an open window. She shook her head slowly, looking like she just came to a sad conclusion. "Nephryte," she said softly. "Yes?" "You don't love me," Lita stated. "Yes I do. Why do you say that?" He insisted. "You don't love me," she repeated, then continued, "You love what I was. You love Princess Jupiter of the Silver Millenium, not me. I'm not her. She's not me. You don't love me." Nephryte thought over that, then shook his head. "I love the both of you. You ARE her. Even if you deny it now, you still have Princess Jupiter of the Silver Millenium in you." Lita shook her head visciously, "No! I am not Princess Jupiter anymore. Understand that. I'm Lita Kino, Sailor Jupiter, anything except Princess Jupiter!" Nephryte's gaze softened, "You really hated your life back then didn't you? That's why your mind is denying you of the memories and the pain. It's blocking out the memories subconsciously isn't it?" Nephryte sniffled, "Oh god, Princess. I'm so sorry I didn't do any more to help you. I'm sorry you had to live the pain that you did. I'm all so sorry about all the pain that I could have somehow prevented." "I'm not a princess! Don't call me that!" Lita insisted fiercly, "I'm Lita. Just call me Lita! Look Nephryte, I'm sorry about what you and Princess Jupiter went through and everything, but you have to understand me. I'm not Princess Jupiter or Princess whatever. I'm not her anymore. She's gone." Lita ended softly, looking into his eyes to see if he understood what he was trying to say. Nephryte blinked slowly, shaking his head slightly, "She's not gone. She's not gone as long as she's in my heart. She's still in you, Lita. Whether you like it or not. You can't keep denying the truth. Don't you feel some sort of bond when you're with me? Because god knows what I feel when I even come close to you." "Nephryte, stop living in your past. It's the future." Lita stated bluntly. "Princess," Nephryte called softly, urgently, trying to pull something out of her. At the back of her soul, Lita could feel a slight tugging. She felt the corners of her soul reacting to the call. "Yes, General Nephryte?" Lita said in a much softer tone. Lita's sensible and logical mind shouted at her. "Please come back, Princess." Nephryte pleaded, his eyes shining brilliant with expectance. "I'm here, General Nephryte. I'm here," Lita said again. Inside her mind, she couldn't believe what she was saying. Yet, she couldn't stop herself from saying it. Everytime she tried to close her mouth, it opened by itself. Something was fighting for the control over her body. Lita couldn't believe it. Her own body, who'd been her friend longer than anyone else was turning against her. Nephryte brought his hands slowly to Lita's face. He cupped her head in his hand, looking straight in the eyes at her. He could see it. He could see Princess Jupiter. That aura that seemed to radiate from her eyes. Her arms went behind his back and hugged him tightly. He let his arms drop and hold her for a minute. Lita shouted so loud, it echoed through all the chambers of her mind. Suddenly, Lita pulled back. Nephryte looked at her, trying to see what was wrong. There was something in her eyes. Something almost delirious like. Her eyes look wild, like a rabid animal. "Princess?" Nephryte whispered, holding his hand out to her again. "No! I'm not any Princess! I don't know what happened or why I did what I did!" Lita said deliriously. She shook her head violently, trying to get rid of all the muddle in her head. Nephryte opened his mouth to speak again, but Lita held her hand up, "Nephryte, please leave." "But-" "Please leave right now. I need to be alone." Lita said sternly, flashing her green eyes at him. "But I-" "Leave!" Lita shouted with such force it sent him back. Not because she was loud, but because of the tone she used. He had never heard her use such a powerful voice before. "You know where to go if you need me," Nephryte said softly and left with a glance back at her. Lita closed and locked the door after him and leaned against it. She thought about everything he said and all that had happened since he came in. Holding her hands up, she inspected them. She couldn't believe these were the hands that betrayed her. The hands that were hugging Nephryte. Something in her mind made her jump. she yelled into her head. Lita shook her head, "I can't believe I'm talking to a stupid voice in my head," Lita mumbled to herself. "Excuse me?" Hera asked when she walked out from the kitchen, "Were you saying something?" Lita shook her head, "No, just talking to myself. Literally." "Where's Nephryte?" Hera asked *casually*. "I made him leave," Lita replied plainly. "What?!" Lita saw what was going on, "Hera! You set him up to that didn't you? You were the one who's been scheming around the house weren't you? Tell me everything! The truth!" Lita grabbed the cat and set it down on the table. "Ouch! You're hurting me!" Hera whined. "Am not. Now tell me everything or else I won't ever let you go." Lita threatened. She was holding Hera at such a precise way that there was no way for Hera to bite or scratch her. "Everything Nephryte told you was true. I heard every single word." Hera admitted. "Anything else that he left out?" "No, not that I can remember." Hera said, "Can you please let me go now?" Lita let the small cat go and watched as it groomed itself, then stared back at her. "Well?" Hera asked expectantly. "Well what?" "Don't you like him?" Hera asked. "No! I have a totally devoted boyfriend that I love like crazy. I have absolutely no interest in Nephryte." Lita stated in a "that was that" tone. "But weren't you the one who hugged him first?" Lita arched an eyebrow, "So you were doing a little more than listening, huh?" "Well-" "Well I don't know why I did that. It's like I had no control of it. It wasn't my fault. No, in a way it was, but I couldn't stop it. It was like watching someone else doing something, but shouting 'no!', but you still can't stop it." Lita explained. "Why don't you give Nephryte a shot? Dump that other guy, he's probably not worth it anyway." Hera persuaded. "Hera! What do you have against Ken? You haven't even met him and you say he's not worth it? Don't be so closed-minded. What are you anyway? My mother?" Lita asked. "No, just your guardian cat and advisor. And I advise you to dump this other guy and go for Nephryte." Hera nodded her head wisely. "Why? You don't even know Ken. How do you know what you know is right? What if it's totally wrong?" Lita retorted angrily. "Because you two were fated together in the Silver Millenium. It's destiny," Hera told her. "Well, it's also destiny that Jupiter Knight and Sailor Jupiter stay together. I know!" Lita stated bluntly. "How do *you* know?" Hera asked. "Because Sailor Pluto told me herself. I remember every word she said to me: Sailor Jupiter, I don't usually give information away this easily, but remember one thing. Jupiter Knight and you are fated together in the future. Never ever let him go." Lita quoted. Hera frowned. She had been told that Nephryte was the one fated for Lita. But what now? In another area of town, Rei and Jadeite were still walking slowly to the temple. Jadeite occasionally glanced infront of him to make sure he wasn't going to run into anything. Most of the time, he kept his eyes on Rei. He wondered when she was going to flash her gorgeous eyes at him again. "Jadeite, don't run into that-" *BAM* Jadeite walked right into a couple of tin trashcans on the street and fell in a heap on the floor. "-trashcan," Rei continued, putting her hand over her mouth to keep from laughing. Blushing a furious pink, Jadeite pulled himself from the trashcans and dusted himself off. He tried not to look too embarassed. Finally, Rei's heaving shoulders could take it no more. She gave up and erupted with laughter. She laughed so hard she hiccupped in between. "Jadeite! You're almost as much as a ditz as Serena is!" Rei laughed. Jadeite joined in at the laughing finally and shrugged, "Sometimes, I just don't look infront of me." Rei stopped laughing eventually and started walking again. Jadeite followed her, taking the side of the sidewalk closest to the street, where there wasn't a lot of clutter to walk into. "Weird," Rei mumbled softly. "What?" "I feel weird around you," Rei admitted, "It's like a deja vu feeling in the back of my head. Like I know you from somewhere. But I don't know where. It's not the Negaverse. I'm sure of that." Jadeite wondered if he should tell her or not. If he should tell her about there brief romance in the past that was put to an end before it had reached full blossom. "Jadeite, don't you feel that too?" Rei asked. Jadeite said softly, "Yes, I feel it too." "What is it? Usually, I can tell what I feel, but I can't explain this one." "It's-it's....I love you Princess Mars," Jadeite blurted out. Although he wasn't a smooth talker like Nephryte, he knew how to get to the point in short time. "What?!" Rei exclaimed, looking around to see if anyone heard. "I love you," Jadeite repeated, feeling some color rise into his cheeks. "You what?!" Rei asked again, not getting it through her head. "Maybe I should explain," Jadeite said. "You better! Because someone better start explaining!" Rei said loudly, almost angrily. "Back in the Silver Millenium," Jadeite started, "I was very good friends with Princess Venus, or Sailor Venus as you call her." "You were?" Rei asked. "Yes, let me finish. I was good friends with Venus. She introduced me to you. When I first saw you, it was like heaven. I fell in love with you shortly after that. I proclaimed my love for you so many times. But you were serving the Royal Moon court. As Princess Serenity said, you were her servant. Which was totally untrue. She treated everyone as her servant. She demanded that all the Princesses serving her had absolutely no commitment to anyone but her. That was why we never really got to hit it off. I still love you, eventhough." Jadeite said. "Wait, what? Sailor Moon was selfish like that? That can't be true. From what I learned, she was a good princess and everyone loved her." Rei stated, "Why should I believe anything that you say?" "Because it's the truth. The memory of Sailor Moon being a good princess was planted by Queen Serenity, who probably wanted all of you to get along in the future. Why should you believe me? Don't you feel that thing? Don't you feel that somehow, what I say is true?" "But-" Jadeite took Rei's hands in his, "Princess, I would never do anything that would hurt you. What I'm saying right now is hurting you, is it not? But it's for the good. Because if I hadn't told you, then you would have been far more hurt in the near future. Just remember that I would never lie to you. Because of the fact that I love you, I do everything I can to make you happy." Rei felt lightheaded, almost like Serena most of the time. Her mind was absorbing everything in, but she couldn't translate it to something her mind would understand. There, standing before her was a man that said he loved her? When they've only met a couple of times? It was so wrong in clear logic, but her heart was screaming it was totally right. "Princess?" Jadeite asked. Rei thought happily. But she tried to be at least a little modest, "Just call me Rei like you always do, Jadeite." "Rei, are you getting all of this?" Jadeite asked. Are you getting all of this? Just last week, a teacher had said that to Rei, but was referring to the math work. But now, a week later, that simple phrase was referring to so much, so many things with lot's of importance. "Yes, I think so." Rei said. She could see her temple up ahead. She needed some space to think, "Thanks for walking me home Jadeite. I can walk the rest of the way. I need some time alone." Jadeite respected her decision and let her walk the rest of the way. Rei turned and waved to him. He waved back, wondering what was going on in her mind right then. He wished that he had telepathic powers while he walked home. he decided. Then, he would have his own worries AND everyone elses. When Jadeite walked into the apartment and saw Nephryte staring blankly at the TV, which wasn't on in the first place, he knew things didn't go too well. He sat on the opposite sofa and looked at Nephryte. "Want to tell me what's wrong?" Jadeite asked. Nephryte shook his head, his eyes unfocused on the blank TV screen. Jadeite thought, looking at the bright side of things. He didn't want to butt his nose in, so he didn't press on any further. Jadeite flipped on the TV and clicked through the various channels. Nephryte sighed deeply and uncrossed his legs. He walked silently to the kitchen and started banging around with the cups and dishes. When he came back, he brought with him two tea cups and saucers. He handed one to Jadeite and sat back down again. "Ready to tell me?" Jadeite asked, taking a sip of the deliciously bitter tea. "Yes," Nephryte told Jadeite everything. From Hera talking to his confession of love to the way Lita acted and practically kicked him out of her apartment. After he told Jadeite everything, he looked expectantly at him. "Don't look at me," Jadeite said, "I have as little of an idea as you have." Nephryte shrugged and went on to another subject, "So how'd it go with you and Princess Rei?" "You really want to know?" Jadeite asked, arching his eyebrow. "Ofcourse. Hope you had more luck than I did." Nephryte laughed shallowly. "Hey, I'm here aren't I? At least she didn't send me to the other side of the world with one of her charms." Jadeite said. "So you told her?" "Yeah." "Even about Sailor Moon?" "Yes." "What about me and Lita? Did you tell her about us?" Nephryte asked. "No, not yet. She might figure it out, though. I don't know how smart she really is." Jadeite admitted. "What did she say?" "She said she needed some time to sort it all out," Jadeite said. Nephryte nodded, "At least you're having a lucky streak. Lita practically threw me out. She had this weird look in her eyes. Almost crazy." "Maybe it was all too much for her. Just give her time and see what comes of it." Jadeite said. "Lita! Wake up, Lita!" "No....too early.....later," Lita mumbled. "Lita, wake up! It's nearly noon!" Hera shouted in Lita's ears. "What?!" Lita bolted straight up, sending Hera flying to the wall. Lita looked at her clock and saw that it WAS almost noon. She had slept for almost half the day. "Don't ever do that again or I'm not going to be your alarm clock again!" Hera warned, picking herself up. "Oh, I'm so sorry Hera. Are you hungry?" Lita asked, petting the small cat. "No, I got something out of the fridge to eat." "Okay. I'm going to go brush my teeth and shower. Thanks for waking me." Lita said. "Glad this wasn't a school day." "I'm going to go out and find Luna to talk. I don't know when I'll be back." Hera said, getting ready to leap out the window. "Yeah, sure. Just don't go running infront of a truck or anything. I don't want a kitty pancake for a pet." Lita said. "Ha, very funny." Hera said sarcastically and lept out the window. Lita went into the bathroom to do her things. She came out with her hair neatly in a pony tail and a pink shirt and shorts. She was about to grab something to eat when the doorbell rang. Looking on the ground, Lita walked to the door. She hoped it wasn't Nephryte because she really wasn't in the mood to talk to him right then. She unbolted the door and opened it. She was staring down at a familiar pair of shoes. Her eyes made it's slow journey up until she met the dark blue eyes. "Ken!" Lita squealed and threw her arms around his neck. Ken wrapped her arms around her and gave her a strong hug that lifted her off the ground. "Hey! Put me down!" Lita demanded, happy to see him. Ken let go of her and looked at her head to toe. His eyes were twinkling and he was grinning from ear to ear. "Lita, I missed you so much!" He hugged her again. "You'd better!" Lita threatened jokingly. Just then, Ken kissed her softly. He missed the taste of her lips and the feel of her close to him. When they seperated from the kiss, Lita grabbed his hand and pulled him into her apartment. She was unaware of the bag he was holding on to. Down the hall, just at the stairs, Nephryte had seen it all. He was going to go see Lita, to see if she was alright. He saw the guy at her door and saw how she reacted to him. It was no doubt that he was her boyfriend. Nephryte did an about face and walked down back to his room and slammed the door so hard that the whole apartment complex seemed to shake. "Ken, you never told me you were coming back! When did you get here?" Lita asked excitingly. Ken was sitting on the sofa and Lita was in the kitchen fixing something. "I wanted to suprise you." "When did you get back?" "Yesterday," Ken replied. Lita came out with two cups and a dish of cookies. She put the cookies infront of Ken and handed him the tea cup. Her eyes took on that spark that was there only when Ken was with her. All the other scouts new that look on Lita. "Did you have fun?" Lita asked. "Yes, but I really missed you." Ken said, biting into a cookie. "Did you meet any girls?" Lita asked, arching an eyebrow. She knew that Ken wouldn't lie to her. "Yes-" Ken started and saw Lita starting to object. He held a hand up, "But they weren't anything to me." "Really?" "Really." "Why?" Ken smiled at her, "Because I couldn't understand anything they were saying and because they weren't you. You're the only one for me, Lita." "Oh Ken," Lita said and blushed. "That reminds me," Ken said and brought the bag he was carrying on the table. "What's that?" Lita asked curiously. "It's for you," Ken said, bringing out a large wrapped box. "You didn't have to get me anything," Lita said, "I can't take it." "You don't even know what it is. C'mon, open it." Ken pushed it into her hands. "Okay," Lita put the box on the table and carefully opened it. She was taking her time, not wripping too much of the beautiful wrapping paper. When she unwrapped the paper, she saw a pretty design on the box. It was so beautiful she couldn't stop staring at it. "You know, there's something inside that." Ken reminded her. Lita smiled widely at him, "I know that, silly. But the box is so beautiful." She opened the box and took out a large silk fan. She spread the fan out and gasped at what she saw. "Do you like it?" Ken asked, even though he could see in her eyes that she loved it. "It's- it's...it's so...wow!" Lita stuttered. Painted on the fan was a scene of a small pond with a couple of lilies floating ontop of it. The scene looked so realistic it was as if she could reach in a pick up one of the flowers. She ran her hand across the smooth silk and it's wood sides. She carefully placed the fan on her table and looked at it again. Everytime she looked at it, it looked more and more realistic. "I guess you like it," Ken said. Lita threw her arms around him, "I love it Ken! Thank you so much! I'm going to find the perfect place to hang it later. I must have cost you a fortune." "Nothing's too good for you," Ken said, stroking her soft hair. "Are you doing anything today?" "No, why?" Ken pulled Lita up, "Let's go to the park. I miss the park." "Okay, let me just pack up a few things." Lita said. She went to get her straw picnic basket and put some leftovers into it. She packed a few cold drinks in and a couple of napkins. "Ready?" Ken asked. "Sure," Lita said, lugging the heavy basket. Ken took it from her, "Let me get that for you." "No," Lita struggled, "It's fine." She tried to walk out the door, but wobbled a little on the way. "At least let me take it down the stairs for you. I don't want you to fall off or anything," Ken said. "Okay, but give it to me after. You might spill some of the stuff inside." Lita said. "Sure, don't worry." Ken said and took hold of the basket. He made it down the stairs with ease and held out the basket for her. "Thanks," Lita said, "Are we going to take the bus or walk there?" Ken shrugged, "Whatever you feel like. My suggestion is to take the bus, unless you let me hold that basket for you." "Okay, you win. We'll take the bus." Lita said. She walked toward the nearest bus stop to her house and waited with Ken. "You won't believe how hard it is to get on the bus in China," He said. "Why?" "It's so crowded there. Everyone is pushing everyone else off or something." Ken said. "So did you ever get on it?" Lita asked. "I had to punch a few faces, but I managed to get on." Ken joked. The bus came to a screeching halt infront of the two and let them on. Lita put the basket on the floor and sat besides Ken on the not so crowded bus. "I wonder why there isn't anyone much on the busses," Ken said aloud. "It's almost summer. Everyone's probably going on vacation out in the country or some other place." Lita said. "Oh yeah, forgot." Ken said. He put his arms around Lita and let her rest her head on his shoulders. He squeezed her affectionately and hugged her like that the rest of the way. When the two of them reached the park, they were holding hands and smiling giddly, happy to be around each other. They ate their food in silence, then sat on the bench the rest of the way. Lita sat on the bench in Ken's arms. Lita thought dreamily. Then, she thought of something that was in the back of her mind. "Ken, do you love me?" Lita asked softly. Ken stopped nuzzling her ear and looked at her. He could tell she was serious about it. "Ofcourse I love you. Why would you ask that?" "Would you love me even if I'm not Sailor Jupiter?" Lita asked. Ken smiled softly and kissed her ear, "Why wouldn't I? I loved you even before I knew about that stuff. So why would it change if you weren't Sailor Jupiter?" "But what if the next day, I lost all my powers and was just an ordinary girl? Would you still love me?" Lita asked, looking at him hopefully in the eyes. "Lita, you'll never be an ordinary girl in my eyes. I don't care about you being Sailor Jupiter or anything as long as you're still you, because I love you." Ken said and kissed her on the mouth deeply. Lita seperated from the kiss and asked, "So you don't love me just because Sailor Pluto said we were destined in the future for each other?" Ken laughed lightly, "Of course not. I don't really care to know the future. Just as long as you're in it, I'm fine with it. I love you because I want to, not because it's some destiny or anything." Ken started to nibble on her ears again, but felt that something was bugging Lita. He stopped and asked thoughtfully, "Lita, what's wrong?" "Nothing," Lita mumbled. "Then why all these questions all of a sudden? Is something wrong? Did something happen while I was gone?" Ken asked. Lita didn't try to keep it from Ken. It was too hard. He was her best friend and knew her like a book. She looked at him, hoping not to hurt him in any way. Her eyes were starting to tear over, but she quickly blinked away. None of the others saw her cry often, but she couldn't stop crying infront of Ken. He knew her weaknesses and saw her cry so many times, most of the times on his shoulders in his embrace. Ken caught those tears in her eyes and took her hand. "Lita, what's wrong? Please tell me. I'll make it better, I'll try." Lita smiled warmly at him. That was just like Ken, trying to make everything that her hurt go away. He had been her protector even before she was old enough to walk. He was her guardian angel, looking down at her, protecting her from anything that would hurt her. "Lita?" Ken asked again, squeezing her hands. Lita couldn't take it anymore. All that time, putting on a strong front to keep everything on the outside wasn't working this time. Her other friends knew her as Lita, the tough girl who never cried and didn't let anyone or anything into her system and disrupt them. But Ken, he knew her as Lita, the girl who tried to keep everything outside, but always having cracks where things would get in. He knew her as Lita, the girl who sometimes needed comforting and the love that her parents weren't able to give her. Her shoulders started to shake with oncoming sobs and hiccups. Her tears broke through the damn and started to flow freely down her pink cheeks. Ken held Lita tightly, letting her cry on his shoulder like he had done so many times before. He patted her back and rocked her back and forth like a baby. He knew that although everyone thought they knew her as one of those people who never let anything get to them, she was just like everyone else, with feelings. "Ken-" Lita said between sobs, "It's awful!...Serena isn't.....she's...." "Shhhhh," Ken soothed, "Don't talk. It's okay, talk when you feel better." Lita nodded and hugged him tightly. She could feel his heart beat in rhythm to hers and eventually stopped crying enough to make out apprehendable words. "Serena isn't acting like Serena anymore, and everyone is coming to me with their problems!" Lita sobbed, "I don't know what to do! Everyone has tons of problems and come to me for answers. I can't give them any and now I feel bad." "It's not your fault Lita. You tried your best to give them answers and that's what matters. It's nothing to cry about." Ken said softly. "But-but....and..." Lita couldn't explain the Nephryte thing. She wasn't sure she even understood it herself. "What? Is there something else?" "No, I don't want you to stress about it. It isn't fair. You just got back and I'm already loading you down with my problems," Lita said, shaking her head, "I'm sorry to be such a burden." "Lita!" Ken said and held her chin up to look at him with his hands, "Don't ever think that! You're not loading me down with your problems. I'm the one who asked you what was wrong, and you are simply giving me the answers, so don't sweat it. It's alright." Lita's eyes started to give way to a new flow of fresh tears, "God Ken, I love you so much. I never mean to hurt you in any way. I love you more than life." "I love you too Lita. Like I said before, not because you're Sailor Jupiter or anything else. Being Sailor Jupiter is just an accessory to you. I love you because you're Lita, my best friend and my girlfriend. Not just because you're the most beautiful creature this planet has to offer, I'd love you if you were the plainest person on Earth. You should know how beautiful and innocent you are, but I'm not going to go into that. I love you for who you are." Ken took a deep breath after saying all that. "I love you like the Sun love the Moon, like the day loves the night. I love you like music loves melodies." Ken continued, "And I know that you love me and won't ever hurt me on purpose. I know that. You don't have to tell me that." "But there's something I have to tell you," Lita started, "There's kind of a lot of things that happened at once." "Tell me, I'd like to know," Ken whispered in her ear. Lita moved away from him and looked at him. She knew he would be hurt if she told him, but somewhere, something was shouting that she should tell him or sooner or later, he would find out and be even more hurt. "There were four generals of Earth in the Silver Millenium that worked for Prince Endymion, who was Darien." Lita started to explain, knowing what a long story this was going to be. "The four generals made frequent trips to the four inner planets of our solar system." Ken had a face that said, "What does any of this have to do with whatever was going on?" "I have one really important thing to tell you, Ken." Lita said, "Whatever I say, please remember that I'm Lita, Sailor Jupiter, anything but Princess Jupiter or any of that okay? Princess Jupiter is of the past and it's not me." "I know that," Ken said softly. "Okay, are you ready for what I'm going to say next?" Lita asked, warning him that it was something big. "Might as well tell me," Ken said. "When Metallia took over most of Earth, she took over the four generals. I mean, she took over their bodies and used them as empty shells to do her dirty work. That where the initial four generals of the Negaverse came from. Remember we told you about them? And how we destroyed them or how Beryl sentanced them into eternal sleep?" Ken nodded. "Before Metallia took over them, one of the generals, General Nephryte was in love with one of the princesses of the royal courts." Lita said. She wasn't sure how she could remember all this that Nephryte told her, but it just seemed to stick in her head one way or another. "And?" "And that was Princess Jupiter. General Nephryte was in love with Princess Jupiter. I don't know how to explain the next part, but it's weird. From what I heard of it recently, Princess Serenity, the Moon Princess was not a nice person. She sentanced all the other Princesses who were suppose to be her protectors to be her personal guards and servants. They weren't allowed to have any outside influence that would cause them to take time off of their duty. I think that General Jadeite liked Princess Mars, but I'm not positive of that. Somehow, the generals are back, reborn I guess, but this time, they're not working for the Negaverse. And they have most of their memory of the Silver Millenium. And now.....now...." Lita couldn't get herself to say the next phrase, even though it was only a few words, "And now Nephryte keeps saying that he loves me!" Ken knew this was coming from the start of the story. He had a feeling this kind of thing would happen. Somewhere in the back of his mind, he knew that Sailor Jupiter had some relationship in the past with someone else. Since he wasn't in the past, then Sailor Jupiter probably had another person who loved her. Ken thought. "Kennie?" Lita asked, looking up into his shadowed eyes. Ken tried to give her a smile. He loved it when she called him that. It was her own way of calling him and no one could say it like she did. He smoothed down her hair and kept on smiling at her. "Kennie?" Lita repeated, "Say something." "Do you love him?" Ken asked, feeling the words sting his mouth. "NO! I don't love him. I love YOU! He doesn't really love me. He loves what I use to be. Nephryte love Princess Jupiter of the Silver Millenium, but not me. He thinks he loves me, but he doesn't even know me. So how could he love me?" Lita asked, trying to convince Ken that what she said was true. "How do you know that you're not the Princess Jupiter of the past? Do you remember anything much from the past?" Lita was a bit taken back by the sentance, "Ken! What do you mean? How can you say that? I'm not Princess Jupiter! I'm just a completely different person from her. You have to believe me! I have no memories what so ever of whatever Princess Jupiter had." "Of course I believe you. I didn't mean it the way it sounded. I know that you're your own person and that you are different from whoever you were in the past." Ken said and hugged her tightly. "What am I suppose to do, Ken? I don't know what to do! Serena's acting weird and I don't know what to do about Nephryte!" Lita shook her head in frustration. She stood up and stomped her way to the edge of the lake. She could see two small figures rowing a boat on the other side. She wished that she was a fish, without all these worries, just swimming in the lake. She wished she had the life of the fish. Just everyday eat and sleep kind of life. It seemed like heaven to her. Without having to think of anything that could lead you down one road of life or another. "What do you want to do? Maybe if you give Serena time, she'll be back to normal. People change Lita, you for one should know that. I don't mean by changing overnight, but maybe Serena is just having some trouble right then and can't really cope well with it. Maybe that's the reason why she's acting so weird. I don't really know, since I haven't seen her in quite a while." Ken said. "What do I do about Nephryte? I don't want to hurt his feelings, but I don't want to hurt yours." Lita said. "Is that it? You don't want to hurt my feelings, so that's why you are staying with me?" Ken asked. "No, it's not that!" Lita insisted, "It's just that you're my best friend and I love you. I don't want anything to hurt you." "Lita, you don't have to protect me from every jab or blow. I can manage fine by myself. Don't do anything because of me. Just do whatever you want and see what road it takes you to. Don't do anything to spare me the pain." Ken suggested, making some distance between the two of them. "But-" Lita started. "But nothing, Lita. I don't want you to do anything just because you'll hurt my feelings. Do whatever you feel like it, okay?" Ken said firmly. "Ken I-" "Lita, I love you and I'm not saying this to hurt you. I'm saying this because you're my friend too. If you keep doing things to make other people happy, then you won't be happy. Sometimes, you have to think about your own happiness too okay? Don't even think about me when it comes to important discisions. Just concentrate on what you want and what you don't want." Lita turned and faced the lake again. The wind was blowing on her face, making the loose tendrils of hair billow wildly. She wished her worries would go away just like the wind. She swallowed the lump in her throat and spoke softly so that Ken had to move closer just to hear what she was saying, "Ken, I'm not staying with you because it would hurt you if we broke up. It would hurt me too. I'm not staying with you just because Sailor Pluto said so either. I'm staying with you on my own free will because you're my best friend, my counterpart, my left side, you mean everything to me." Ken wrapped his arms around Lita and let her sink into his strong arms, "Lita, that's all I wanted to hear. You mean more than everything in the world to me. You're what my whole life revolves around. You are like the sun, and my life is like the other planets all revolving around the sun. Without you, I would be like the planets sent to every corner of the universe becaues there is no sun. My whole life would fall apart if you weren't here with me." Lita smiled inwardly and soon felt all her troubles melt away. It felt so good just to stand here and look out at the rippling water of the lake. She was unaware that she was staring so intently at the couple on the boat. As the boat got closer to her side of the shore, she could see that the girl on the boat looked like Rei and the guy on there looked a bit like Jadeite. "Hey, look. It's Rei and Jadeite." Lita said, waving at them. "Rei and who?" Ken asked. "Rei and Jadeite. He's the other general that was reborn with Nephryte. I think him and Rei are hitting it off pretty good." Lita said. *************************************************** Is it me or am I mainly focussing on Lita and Ken again? Too bad, you know what I always say: It's my fic and I'll write if I want to.
