REVOLUTIONS OF THE MOON Part I Duo Reincarnation "Darien....." Serena said, drooling out of the corner of her mouth, "Darien......" "Serena!" Mrs Tsukino shouted from the kitchen, "You'd better get up before you're late for school." "Serena! Did you hear what your mother said?" Luna jumped onto Serena's bed. "WAAAHHHHH!" Serena bolted upright, flinging Luna off the bed and into the nearby wall. Luna shook her head and walked slowly up to the bed again, "Serena! Why did you do that? I was nearly killed." "Luna, you scared me. Don't do that again!" Serena declared and wiped the drool off of her face. "C'mon Serena, you'll be late for school and Haruna-sensei will lock you outside again." Luna warned. "Right! I'll be right on it!" Serena jumped from the bed, flinging Luna off again. This time, Luna learned her lesson and stayed on the floor. Serena pulled on her robe and marched into the bathroom. *BANG* "Serena? What's that noise?" Mrs Tsukino asked from the kitchen. "WAHHHHHH! Shingo closed the bathroom door and I walked into it. It hurts!" Serena cried. Shingo opened the door, neatly dressed and ready to go to school, "Ahhh, quit your whining. You're such a baby sis!" Serena sniffed and walked into the bathroom to do her business. Luna gathered up Serena's pencils which were scattered all over the place. She stuffed that and the half finished homework into Serena's open backpack. _Zoom_ Serena sped down the street to school. She was late again and Haruna-sensei was going to lock her out if she didn't get the fast. She paid no attention to the red ferrari parked infront of the local tea shop. "More tea, sir?" A waitress held up a steaming teapot. "Please," the man held up his tea cup along with his companions. The maid went back into the kitchen after filling the two gentlemen's teacups. "Well?" the other man asked. "Well what?" the first man replied, sipping his tea. "Nephryte, what do you think about this? Aren't we suppose to be dead?" The second man asked. "Look, Jadeite. I'm about as confused as you are right now. If you ask me, then who will I ask?" Nephryte retorted, putting down his coffee cup. "Oh God, this is so weird. I don't even know what year it is, let alone the time." Jadeite sighed. Nephryte stared down at his swirling tea. The tea leaves evoked a memory that was long ago locked into his heart. His heart had been locked up, so he could not feel anything, by Beryl. Now, that Beryl was no more he could feel his emotions being reborn, just like he was. He can recall the past, from his long since been used memory..... Elder Endymion led the four generals and his son, Prince of Earth (Future King) through the halls of the place. He showed them around the halls of the palace. He pointed out the emergency exits incase the time came where they had to evacuate the immense building. "This here," Elder Endymion pointed to a door,"is the south-west exit. This is the last exit, if all the other exits fail, you must go to this one." All the generals nodded, and Endymion took note of that. They were standing in a straight line facing Elder Endymion, highest rank to the youngest. Starting on the right was: Endymion, then the oldest, Kunzite, Nephryte, Jadeite, then Zoycite, the youngest. Elder Endymion inspected each of them carefully to make sure they looked presentable. Endymion straightened his own collar, he knew how picky his father can sometimes be with outer appearences. "Yes, you all look very nice today." Elder Endymion said. "I am going to talk to Queen Serenity and the King before the ball starts. Please don't be too obvious if you happen to be late." "Yes," Endymion promised. "We will, your highness." The four generals said at the same time and bowed. "I'll meet you promptly after the ball is over on the Prophecy," King Endymion told them. (the Prophecy is the "ship" they came on) "Okay, will do." Endymion said. "And we will make sure he gets there in time," Kunzite said with a sideglance at Endymion. Endymion patted him on the back, "Don't worry, old friend. I will be punctual this time." King Endymion (the elder) glanced at his watch, "There is still half an hour until the guest should start arriving. Why don't you show the Generals around the Moon Palace, get them accustomed to it." "Yes father, I will." Prince Endymion said and watched his father walk down the hall and turn down another. "Why do we have to arrive so early, anyway? We're always early to everything." Prince Endymion asked. Kunzite quoted something said by a great mind, "You know, Prince Endymion: To be on time is to be late." Endymion waved that comment away, "Yes, yes. I've heard my father say that many times too many." "Please, why don't you show us around?" Nephryte asked. This was the first time he's ever set foot in the Moon Palace. Yes, he's been outside it but never inside. "Of course," Endymion started leading down the hall, pointing to a picture and describing it. Nephryte thought dryly to himself. He regretted telling Endymion to show him around. He could barely keep his attention on Endymion's voice droning on about this statue, sculped for this....that painting, painted in that......blah... Jadeite, the historian of the group was basking in true heaven, "And those two ladies you see down the hall..." Endymion said. At the word ladies, Nephryte's attention snapped back and he listened intently to the Prince. "....they are Jupiter and Venus, the princesses of their own planets. I guess they have been invited also." Endymion said. Nephryte looked down the hall at the princesses that he's never seen before. He saw two ladies, one had long cascading blonde hair that reached to the small of her back. The other one took his breath away. She was taller than average, almost his height and she had the creamiest white skin. She had indian brown hair, almost red like his that was tied up in a high ponytail that gave definition to her swan like neck. "Wow, beautiful, isn't she?" Jadeite whispered to Nephryte. "The tall one," Nephryte said. "No, I meant the blonde one," Jadeite couldn't stop staring at her. She had long shimmering blonde hair and a pale complexion. Endymion saw the look the two generals had and grinned from ear to ear. "Come, I'll introduce you to them." Nephryte walked behind Endymion, speechless. He hoped he didn't sound like a babbling idiot infront of the Jupiter goddess. "Jupiter, Venus. So good to see you," Endymion called. Jupiter and Venus looked up from their talking and smiled at Endymion. "Endymion, what are you doing here so early?" Venus asked, raising an eyebrow. "Trying to catch a glimpse of the Princess, are we?" Jupiter asked slyly. Nephryte sighed inwardly. There he was, the "womanizer" of all of them, and he was absolutely smitten with this girl. Endymion pretended to look taken back, "Why would I have an alterior motive for being early. My father insists on it." Venus looked interested, "Oh, King Endymion is here?" "Yes," "My father would like to speak to him. If you see King Endymion can you tell him my father is looking for him?" Venus asked. "Of course," Endymion said. He felt a sharp jab at his side. Jadeite cleared his throat, suggesting something to Endymion. "How could I be so rude?" Endymion apologized, "These are my friends, General Kunzite, General Zoycite," he pointed to each one, "General Nephryte and General Jadeite." Endymion indicated Jupiter, "This is Princess Jupiter, of Jupiter." "Pleasure to meet you," Jupiter extended her hand, shaking Kunzite's hands, then Zoycite's, then Jadeite's. When she extended her hand to Nephryte, instead of shaking it, Nephryte bowed low and kissed it. Jupiter let her hand fall down to her side and blushed. She looked up to Nephryte, meeting his gaze, but then dropping her eyes bashfully. Her long eyelashes fluttered. Endymion thought. He had heard Nephryte use that voice and watched women swoon at the sound of it. He had tried and practiced that voice once, but he ended up sounding like a tenor with a frog up his nose. He decided to just depend on his charms instead. "I'm charmed to meet you, Princess Jupiter." Nephryte said in that voice, smooth and fluid. "And this is Venus, of the planet Venus." Endymion introduced Venus. "Naturally," Jadeite muttered and rolled his eyes, hoping no one saw. Why was it that royalty liked to repeat things that were clearly obvious, like: Hello, I am General Jadeite and I am a General. When Venus extened her hand to him, Jadeite also kissed it, holding it a while longer than intended. Venus took her hand down and blushed but she didn't lower her gaze. She gave Jadeite a cute smile that could melt his soul......... Nephryte looked up from his tea cup. It seemed like he had been asleep an eternity after he looked up from the cup. Jadeite was staring at him. "Did you hear a word I said?" Jadeite repeated. "Oh, I'm sorry. What were you saying?" Nephryte asked, shaking some sense in his head. "I asked you, if you remember anything after Beryl?" Jadeite repeated. "Um.....I remember that I died. No, if I died, then what am I doing here?" Nephryte asked himself. "I remember that I died too!" Jadeite said. "Do you remember how?" Nephryte asked. "Yeah, eternal sleep." Jadeite shuttered at that. He had no memories of the eternal sleep but it still gave him the creeps. "I can't remember how I died. But all I know is that I died." Nephryte muttered. Jadeite wasn't listening to him. He was looking out the window but not seeing anything at all. He remembered something from the distant past, something that was locked in his heart forever.... .....Jadeite searched the ballroom for her. There were people from every single planet and asteroid in their galaxy. It was the Moon's 325th anniversary ball. He searched through the crowds, looking for her. The women there were dressed in every kind of dress imaginable. Some sleeveless, some strapless, some with long sleeves, others with a thick collar. Every color of the rainbow was in this ballroom. Finally, Jadeite laid her eyes on her. She was wearing a light yellow gown that billowed out, like spring flowers. A flowery white sash cascaded down her shoulders. She looked beautiful in that dress, even though he had seen her before the ball in it already. Jadeite saw that she was standing alone and that this was his chance. He casually walked over to her, trying not to trip over his own two feet and make a fool out of himself. "Princess Venus, may I ask for this dance?" He asked, holding his hand out. "No," Venus started. Jadeite thought, not letting her finish the sentance. "No, don't call me Princess Venus. It's just Venus." She said, completing her sentence. "But of course, I'd be happy to dance with you, General." "Please, call me Jadeite," Jadeite said after his heart resumed it's regular rythm. He led her onto the dance floor with his hand on her waist and they waltzed together...... Nephryte stared at Jadeite. It looked like he was going under the same spell he just awoke from. Was he reliving the same memory or was he thinking of another one? Nephryte imapatiently sipped his tea, not really tasting it. Looking out the window across the street, a young girl caught Nephryte's eyes. She was wearing a plain brown and white school uniform, but something about her tugged at his heart. Shaking his head and turning away, Nephryte dismissed that feeling as something hormonal. He scolded himself. That girl was at least five years younger than he. "Nephryte?" Jadeite's voice interupted his thoughts. "Yes?" "The weirdest thing happened," Jadeite started. "Let me guess, you remembered something about a princess in the Silver Millineum?" Nephryte took a crack at it. "Yes, is that what happened to you when you blanked out on me?" Jadeite asked, his voice excited. "Yes, tell me. What did you remember?" Nephryte sat forward on his bench. The two exchanged memories they remembered, trying to fill in each other's holes. Try as they might, big black spots still remained where there should have been memories. "Lita!" Serena called after her tall friend. "Hello, Serena. What's wrong? You forgot you're lunch again?" Lita asked. "How did you know?" "Don't you always, Serena?" Lita asked laughing, "Well, you can have some of my lunch since I packed more than enough incase you forgot." "Thanks Lita, you're a real friend!" Serena sat beside Lita on the bench. "Oh wow," Lita sighed after a passing guy, "He's so kawaii. He looks like..." "Your old boyfriend. I know already Lita." Serena repeated. So far, she counted thirty-two guys that looked like Lita's boyfriend. "Really, this one really does look like him, Serena." Lita tried to convince her friend. "Yeah, him and the other thirty something guys," Serena said and munched on a sandwhich. "Say, what did you get on your math final?" Lita remembered that Luna had been nagging Serena about that for a long time. "Oh, it's not important. Look, isn't today a beautiful day?" Serena tried to wave it off and change the subject. "Serena, what did you get?" Lita asked again. "Igotafortysix," Serena mumbled. "What?" "Forty-six," Serena repeated quietly. "Forty six?! Luna's going to bite your head off!" Lita said. Serena started to cry, sniffing loudly, "I know! But I just don't like math! Luna's going to get so mad!" Lita shrugged her shoulders, "Hate to tell you, Serena. But you get what you deserve." "Hey, what's that suppose to mean?" Serena asked, offended. "Did you study for it?" "Well, no. But I'm not like Ami," Serena started. "Serena! Everyone has to study. That's how you get good grades," Lita sighed. "But I'm suppose to be naturally smart!" Serena whined. "Serena! No one is naturally smart. Well, except Ami, maybe. You have to work for it!" Lita thought she was begining to sound like her teacher. On and on they went, talking about how to get smart and who's smart until the end of lunch. ******** "Serena! Hurry, transform. There's something weird going on at the south side of town. I think we sould check it out!" Ami said, running by Serena on the street. Serena ran to catch up with her, "Ami wait up. Where are we going? What's going on?" Ami ran faster, "No time to explain (puff)....we have to.....(gasp)...get there." "Wait, Ami!" Serena duck into a dark alley. Ami followed her, "Serena, where-" She stopped when she saw what Serena was doing. "Moon Prism Power!" "Mercury Star Power!" Sailor Mercury shouted after Sailor Moon. They ran out of the alley now fully transformed. They ran so fast, Serena didn't even notice that the same red ferrari that was there this morning was still parked infront of the tea house. "Anything else?" Nephryte asked. "No, I don't think so." Jadeite shook his head. They had sat there from morning to the afternoon, trying to recall anything else. Every fifteen minutes or so, they would go into some sort of semi-consciousnous and then come back to the present, remembering a bit more. "Okay, so basically....we're reborn from the Silver Millineum and this is how we're going to remember everything?" Nephryte summarized. "Yes, I guess. It's pretty good, what we remembered. Compared to what we started out with," Jadeite said. "I suppose," Nephryte went over what he and Jadeite both knew by now. They remembered almost everything from the Silver Millineum up to the point where Beryl launched her attack. Suddenly, Nephryte faded from that conscious into another semi-coma. This time, the memory wasn't a happy one.... ....."Nephy, please promise me you're going to come back," Jupiter pleaded. She had her arms wrapped around him and her head on his shoulder. "I will," Nephryte said softly and smoothed her hair down. He embraced her, rocking the two of them back and forth. Jupiter looked up at him, into his deep eyes. Her own eyes were pooling over with tears. She hastily wiped them away with the back of her hand. Nephryte caught her hand and brought it up to his mouth, kissing the tip of each finger. Jupiter choked back sobs that were threatening to block out her air. She swallowed back the lump in her throat, trying to keep herself from crying. (Nephryte's POV) "Cry, if it will make you feel better." I said to her. I could see her trying to choke back the thousands of tears. Her peaches and creams complexion was now flushed at her cheeks. Suddenly, the dam broke loose, her tears spilling out. "Nephryte!" Jupiter sobbed my name and put her head back on my shoulder. I tried to comfort her body-shaking sobs, waiting for them to stop. For a while, we just stood like that, me rocking her, comforting her. Jupiter hiccupped and looked back up at me. Her eyes were red rimmed but she put on a smile for me. "I don't want you to remember me this way," Jupiter said, her voice trembling, "So I'll try my best to smile for you." I stroked her hair, "Don't try to do anything you don't want to." Jupiter tilted her head up to me as I lowered my lips onto hers. She kissed me gently, a smile playing on her lips that made my own lips curve into a smile to match hers. When we parted, we were both smiling. I could feel tears in my own eyes, making everything blurry. I blinked them away and swallowed my own sorrow. How sad it was, that I had to go into battle, just when our love is in full bloom. But, that is my duty as a General, to protect Endymion. As it is her duty as a Senshi to protect the Moon Princess. How I hate the Moon Princess. It is because of her, that Jupiter, my love will not fully commit to me. No, it is her duty to protect the Moon Princess. How pampered can one get? Endymion is not at all like her. He honors my request for a committed relationship with Jupiter. But the Moon Princess? No, she says that Jupiter has to commit her whole life to protecting her. "Nephy? What are you thinking?" She asked me. Nephy, how long will it be until I hear that word said with that angelic tone again? "No, I'm not thinking of anything." I assure her. I know that she too, like the other senshi have something against the Moon Princess. But, it is their duty, their unchosen duty to protect the horrid Moon Princess. "Promise me that you'll never forget me," I asked of her. "I promise that you will be in my heart always," She vowed. "Just as long as you promise to come back." "I promise," I vowed to her. If I had known what I would come back as, I would have hung myself that second......... ......."Nephryte! You're here!" I hear a girl's voice call from behind the dunes. There are not a lot of voices heard on Earth since the battle that spilled blood down every river so that now, the brook runs deep red blood. I see a girl, in a small green and white fuku with a much too short skirt run up to me. Strangely, she runs up and hugs me. "Nephy, you're alive!" she cries and covers my face in kisses. I hold the girl at arm's length, what is this foolish girl talking about? "I do not know you!" I said and cast her by. She comes up infront of me again, her eyes so clear it blinds me, "Nephy, don't you remember me?" "Nephryte, my name is Nephryte!" I insist on her. "Don't you remember me? I still love you!" She cries and takes a hold of my arm. "Who are you? You crazy girl. You are pathetic." I say, searching the ruins for any signs of the Silver Imperium Crystal. The girl stops infront of me, her hands by her side. She was no longer smiling. Something tugs at my heart, but is immediatly cast aside. I have a duty. To find the crystal, destroy the Moon Princess, and all her protectors. "Nephryte, don't you remember me?" she repeats softly, "I'm Jupiter." Jupiter. I remember that name. Queen Beryl had quoted a list of who to kill. One of them was a girl named Jupiter. I recall the list: Mars, Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, Pluto, Moon, Jupiter, Endymion. I lay my hand on the handle of my sword, a smile playing on my lips. Yes, she was one of them. One of them who Queen Beryl told me to kill. I bring the sword out, holding it infront of me. The girl's eyes grow wider, she can't take her eyes off of my bloodstained sword. I move it around, admiring the way it still shined in the sun. In one quick thrust, I push the blade of my sword into the fleshy part of her abdomen. "Nephryte! What have they done to you?" she croaked out, holding the wound with my sword still jutting out. I push the sword in deeper, satisfyed with I see the end of it protrude out her back. She is still looking at me, pleading with her eyes. A part of me is screaming, "Jupiter! No! This isn't suppose to happen!" But that part is locked away by Queen Beryl. I just stand and smile wickedly. Slowly, the girl sinks to her knees, painfully slow. She still looks at me, not an ounce of hate in her eyes. It looks as though she understands me. "I still love you," she mouthed, not having the strength to produce a voice. "Pah! Pathetic. There is no such thing as love here. Only hate." I say and pull the knife out of her. At that instant, she falls flat on her face and her body is unmoving. I lay my hand on her neck, she has no pulse. The heat is already draining from her body. Oddly, I do not feel as happy as I did when I killed the others. (Third Person Perspective again) Nephryte pounded the table hard with his fist, scaring some of the people around him. He blinks away his tears and swallows back his sorrow. "What happened? Did you remember anything else?" Jadeite asked, sitting forward in his chair. "Yes," Nephryte said softly. "What?" Jadeite asks, waiting for an answer. "We changed sides, we went to fight for Beryl, instead of against her. She brainwashed us or something. All four generals. I killed her..." Nephryte said mournfully. "Beryl? You killed her?" Jadeite asked. "No, Jupiter. I killed her," The tears threatened to choke Nephryte, if they were not shed soon. "Princess Jupiter?" Jadeite asked. He remembered Nephryte was quite smitten with her. Nephryte nodded. "Beryl? She was responsible for it wasn't she?" Jadeite asked. Nephryte nodded again, "No, we are partially responsible. If only I had more strength, I could have fought of Beryl. I could have prevented that." Jadeite poured Nephryte some more tea, "No, old friend. It's not our fault. We were brainwashed." "Maybe this is my punishment. To live my life on this world, knowing that I killed my love." Nephryte mumbled. "Maybe," Jadeite agreed. Suddenly, both men turned to see two girls run past the window to the tea house. Jadeite met Nephryte's surprised look. "Senshi!" The said at the same time. "Let's go follow them," Jadeite said. Nephryte threw down a wad of money that mysteriously was found in his pocket on the table and left with Jadeite. "Sir! You left your mo-" the maid called after them. "Keep it!" Jadeite called to her. The two ran out of the shop and were going to chase after the senshi. Nephryte pulled Jadeite back by his collar. "Ack!" Jadeite coughed, "What did you do that for?" "Why were we going to chase the Senshi?" Nephryte asked him. "Because...." Jadeite tried to think. There use to be a reason when Beryl was there, to get the rainbow crystals, but now, it wasn't important to him. "Why?" Nephryte asked again. "Because maybe they know what's happening," Jadeite thought up. "Do you think they'll tell us? I mean, we use to be their enemies," Nephryte said. "Let's just go, we're losing them." Jadeite started to chase after them again. Nephryte grabbed Jadeite's collar again and spun him around. "Ack! Stop doing that!" Jadeite rubbed his neck. "Come, let's take my car." Nephryte pointed to a shiny red ferrari. They got in and buckled up. Nephryte stuck the keys in the ignition and heard it purr. "How did you get a car?" Jadeite asked. He never got a car. "I had this for a long time," Nephryte said. Jadeite suddenly thought of something, "How did we get into the Tea House?" Nephryte drove the car out of it's parking space, "I don't remember." "Do you think we just appeared there, out of no where?" Jadeite asked. "Who knows," Nephryte drove the car a couple of yards behind the two running senshi. "Sailor Mercury and Moon," Jadeite pointed out. "Strange, I don't feel like blasting them anymore," Nephryte said. "Me neither. Do you think we changed for the good?" "Who knows," Nephryte said again. "Stop!" Jadeite cried. Nephryte screeched the brakes, "Thanks for warning me, I didn't want to run them over." The two of them got out of the car and followed the two Senshi into the park. There were people running everywhere so there was no chance that they could be noticed, besides the fact that they were walking the opposite way. Everyone else was running away from the park. "What are we going to do?" Jadeite asked. "I don't know, let's just see what they do first." Neprhyte whispered. He bounded up to a tree. He thought happily. "Hey, wait for me!" Jadeite leapt up onto a tree next to Nephrytes. They bounded from tree to tree keeping an eye on Sailor Moon and Sailor Mercury. "Did you hear something?" Sailor Moon asked in her shrill voice. "No, must be your imagination. Let's go see where Sailor Mars and Luna are." Sailor Mercury ran ahead of Sailor Moon into a clearing of the trees. "We can't go out there," Jadeite said just loud enough for Nephryte to hear. "We'll just stay here then. That way, they won't see us," Nephryte said and sat on his tree branch. "Mars Fire Ignite!" A fireball whizzed through the air and struck a dark looking figure. "Sailor Mars!" Sailor Moon called out. "Don't just stand there. Help me!" Sailor Mars ordered. "Moon Tiara Magic!" Sailor Moon threw her tiarra at one of the youma's emerging from the ground. "Where are they coming from?" Sailor Mercury asked. She put on her VR glasses and scoped the place. "Hide!" Nephryte said and jumped down behind a statue. "Why?" Jadeite was still on his tree. "She has her VR glasses on. She can detect us up on the trees. Get down, you idiot!" Nephryte pulled Jadeite by the cuff of his pants. "AYYYEEE!" Jadeite fell ontop of Nephryte with a thud. Nephryte pushed Jadeite off of him. "Get off of me!" He yelled. "Wait, I can't find my other shoe. I think you pulled it off!" Jadeite looked around for his other boot. "My shoe! I lost my shoe!" "It's right here," Nephryte handed him the fallen shoe and got up. "Did you hear something?" Sailor Moon asked. She looked around. "It's more youmas!" Sailor Mars yelled, she was fireing at anything that moved. "Hey, watch it!" Sailor Moon shouted after a fireball whizzed past her. "Er...sorry." Sailor Mars continued to fight of youmas. "Mercury Ice bubbles!" If the youmas weren't burnt to a crisp, they were frozen solid. "Moon Tiarra, Magic!" Sailor Moon shouted. Her tiarra hit five youmas before returning to her head. "I think that's the last of them," Sailor Mercury said. She walked to where Sailor Moon and Sailor Mars were. "Hey, where's Luna?" Sailor Moon asked. "She went to get Sailor Jupiter and Venus," Sailor Mars said. "I hope they get here soon," Sailor Mercury said. "Why? We finsished the last of them!" Sailor Moon said. "Ummm...not exactly," Sailor Mars pointed around them. True, there were more youmas coming out of the ground, surrounding them. The Senshi huddled in the middle. "Not again! I'm tired, Mars." Sailor Moon whined. Instead of answering, Sailor Mars sent out a batch of her fireballs. But there were too many and four or five youmas didn't make much of a difference. "Nephryte, we should go help them." Jadeite whispered after he got his shoes on. "Look at Sailor Moon," Nephryte said. "Yeah, what about her?" "Don't you see?" Jadeite shook his head, "See what?" "She's the Moon Princess!" Nephryte pointed out. Jadeite slapped himself, "Ofcourse! The same Lunar hairstyle, it IS her!" "Should we still help them?" Nephryte asked quizzically. "If she's the Moon Princess, then the one with the long black hair must be Princess Mars." Jadeite mumbled. "The one in the short hair is Princess Mercury," Nephryte said. he thought to himself. "Should we go help them?" Jadeite asked again. Nephryte was still in his own thoughts, He wasn't the one who killed the other scouts, so he had no idea that they also died, but was reborn. "Nephryte! I'm going to help them, even if you don't want to." Jadeite said sternly, jolting Nephryte out of his thoughts. "I'm coming with you. But, where's Venus?" Nephryte asked. "I'm going to find out," Jadeite stood up and started walking to them. Nephryte followed Jadeite, nearing the group of youmas who were closing in on the three Seshi. He raised his hand at the youmas, hoping he still had his full powers. "AHHHHH!" He yelled. He felt the energy soar out of his body, up his arm and out to the group of youmas. Strangely, this time it wasn't pitch black. His powers were now white, a blinding kind of energy. He looed beside him to see Jadeite doing the same thing. Jadeite gave Nephryte an amused look. He too, noticed that his powers being shot out had changed colors. Jadeite just shrugged and went back to blasting away the youmas. All three Senshi had their eyes tightly closed. First, the youmas were surrounding them, getting closer. Then all of a sudden, this blinding white light hits right were they are. "It's too bright! I can't see a thing!" Sailor Mars said with her eyes closed. When she opened it to take a peek, it was like staring at the sun. "Oh! We're going to die like this! Tuxeedo Mask, where are you?" Sailor Moon cried. The light didn't hurt at all, but it was just so bright. Tuxeedo Mask landed on the floor by the huddle of melting youmas. He squinted against the bright light, trying to see where it was from. To his suprise, he saw two of the Negaverse Generals shooting something at the youmas. Almost ready to throw his rose, Tuxeedo Mask noticed that the Generals weren't doing anything to hurt the three Senshi. Instead of throwing his daggerlike roses at the Generals, he threw them at the remaining youmas. "Tuxeedo Mask is here," Nephryte told Jadeite. His hands were getting tired and they were starting to burn. "I think he knows we're not trying to hurt them," Jadeite replied. Nephryte thought. From what he remembered, in the Silver Millineum, almost everyone hated that pampered spoiled princess. The last of the youmas were wiped away by Tuxeedo Mask, but the senshi, who still had their eyes closed were unaware of that. Tuxeedo Mask rushed to Sailor Moon's side and put his arm on her shoulder. "Sailor Moon, it's okay." Sailor Moon opened her eyes to see that the light was gone. The other Senshi also saw that the blinding light had died out. "What happened?" Sailor Mercury asked. They noticed Sailor Mars slowly chanting something. She took out two slips of paper with some Japanese characters written on them. They read: Evil be gone. "Sailor Mars, what are you doing?" Sailor Moon asked. Sailor Mars was now holding one slip of paper in one hand. She had seen the two Negaverse Generals and she was going to demolish them. Mars charged to where Nephryte and Jadeite was and slapped the paper onto their forheads. "What the-" Nephryte started. "Evil Spirit Be Gone!" Sailor Mars shouted. The two Generals just stood there, looking at her as if she was crazy. "It's Nephryte and Jadeite!" Sailor Mercury exclaimed. "No, how can they be? They're suppose to be dead or something!" Sailor Moon shouted. She didn't want to start fighting them again. "Relax, I don't think they came to fight us." Tuxeedo Mask said. "What do you mean? They're evil!" Sailor Mars shouted back at them. "No, I saw them fighting off the youmas for you." Tuxeedo Mask explained. Nephryte took the paper off of his forhead, "So do you mind if I take this off? It's not really a fashion statement." Mars thought to herself, Sailor Moon ran next to Sailor Mars, "You're Moon Dusted!" "Sailor Moon, listen to me!" Tuxeedo Mask tried to reason with them. "Moon Healing.....Activation!" Sailor Moon pointed her crescent wand at them. She shot her Moon powers at them and waited. Jadeite took that time to take that silly looking piece of paper off his forehead. He examined it, and noticed that it said: Evil Spirit Be Gone. "It's not working!" Sailor Moon cried. "Will everyone just listen to me!" Tuxeedo Mask yelled, trying to get their attention. When they turned their full attention at him, he continued, "I don't think Nephryte and Jadeite are working for the Negaverse. If they were, they could have easily destroyed you while you were all fighting the youma. So stop trying to attack them." "Thank you," Nephryte said to Tuxeedo mask. "Like he said, we're not trying to hurt you." "Then what are you doing here?!" Sailor Mars fired at them. "We don't know," Jadeite said, "That's why we're here. To ask you." "And you think that we're going to tell you?" Sailor Moon asked, "After you tried like over a hundred times to kill us?" Nephryte turned and started walking away, "Come on Jadeite. They're right. They don't owe us anything." "Wait," Tuxeedo Mask said. Mercury, Mars and Moon turned at looked at him. "What are you doing!?!" Sailor Mars demanded at him, "Are you going to help them?" "Yes, I'm going to help them. Something is telling me to help them." Tuxeedo Mask said. Sailor Moon understood what he was saying. He had the ability of sensing some strange things. "So you'll help us?" Jadeite asked. "What do you need?" Tuxeedo Mask asked. Nephryte walked up to Tuxeedo Mask, "Prince Endymion, do you know why we are here?" Everyone gasped. How did Nephryte know who was Endymion? "How did you know?" Tuxeedo Mask asked. Jadeite walked closer to Tuxeedo Mask, studying him quizzically, "Don't you remember?" "Remember what?" Tuxeedo Mask asked, "I don't remember anything much of the Silver Millineum, probably less than you do." "Damn!" Nephryte yelled. He would think that the senshi and Tuxeedo Mask would remember. "Hey, watch your mouth!" Sailor Mars ordered. Nephryte glared at her. Sometimes, her temper just got to him, even when he knew her in the Silver Millineum. "Do you remember anything from the past?" Sailor Moon asked. Jadeite looked at her, with disgust. She was the Moon Princess. She was the one responsible for Beryl taking over, but still, Queen Serenity thought her daughter was the perfect angel. Until the Moon Princess threatened to kill her, Queen Serenity had been pampering her with guards and gifts and everything else. "Yes," Nephryte answered, "But that's not what I want to talk about." The least thing he wanted to talk about is his past, it was too painful now that he knew what he did, with his own hands. "Please, tell us about the past!" Sailor Moon insisted. "No, it's not the time. The past is better left undisturbed." Jadeite agreed with Nephryte. "So why should we tell you what you want to know?" Sailor Mars snapped. "Where is Venus?" Jadeite asked, changing the subject. Sailor Mars was surprised. Jadeite had died long before Sailor Venus came to Tokyo, how did you know? "Is she still alive?" Jadeite asked. "Ofcourse she's still alive, why shouldnt' she be?" Sailor Mercury, who had been quiet all this time, asked. "So she's here?" Jadeite asked. "Of course. What are you so happy about?" Sailor Mars asked. They didn't have a time to answer, because they heard some pounding steps coming closer. The two cats first emerged from the trees, followed by the other two senshi. Jadeite almost had a heart attack when he saw who it was. His mind screamed at him, He saw Sailor Venus slow down as she got to them. Nephryte thought, His eyes followed Sailor Jupiter's every move, trying to see if this was a dream or not. He couldn't help staring at her legs. Back in the Silver Millineum, he only saw her wearing long gowns. The only time he ever saw her wearing her fuku, he was too out of it to care. He reminded himself. "Sorry, looks like we got here a little too late." Sailor Jupiter said, catching her breath. Nephryte met Jadeite's look, after tearing his eyes away from Sailor Jupiter. Can it be? That she had not really died and it was just an imagination? "About fifteen minutes late!" Sailor Mars snapped, "What, have you been studying from her?" Sailor Mars jerked a finger to point at Sailor Moon. "Hey!" Sailor Moon defended. "Who are they?" Sailor Venus asked, pointing at the two generals. "They're Negaverse generals," Sailor Moon explained. "What?" Sailor Jupiter jumped further away from Nephryte and started her attack phase. "No, wait. They're good." Tuxeedo said. "Well, I wouldn't phrase it exactly that way," Sailor Mars started. "They don't work for the Negaverse anymore?" Luna asked. "No, not anymore." Mercury said. "Talking cat? Now I've seen it all," Jadeite mumbled. "Hey, there's nothing wrong with a talking cat!" Artemis butted in. "Two talking cats," Nephryte arched his eyebrow. "I think, that when we destroyed Beryl, there was nothing left to keep them dead. So they were reborn." Sailor Mercury explained a logical explanation. "Whoa....wait a minute. Then why aren't they still working for the Negaverse? Does that mean there will be other Negaverse people who Beryl executed that are walking around?" Sailor Mars asked. "No, we weren't the originaly from the Negaverse. We use to be on the other side-" Jadeite started to explain, but received a sharp jab on the side by Nephryte. "You weren't on their side? What side were you on?" Sailor Moon asked when Jadeite didn't say anymore. "No, nothing. It's all in the past now. No use stirring up the past." Jadeite said. He didn't know why Nephryte didn't want him to tell the Senshi about the past. If anything, he thought it would only do good. "So he's on our side now?" Sailor Jupiter asked. They all looked at the two generals in question. Nephryte exchanged a look with Jadeite, and nodded. "I guess it means we are. I really have no urge to look for the Silver Crystal anymore." Nephryte said, but thought Jadeite kept his eyes on his blonde goddess and said nothing more. She met his gaze, and he felt something inside of her click. She smiled at him, but that was all. "Can I go home yet? I'm hungry!" Sailor Moon started to whine. "OK, looks like our work is done here." Tuxeedo Mask said. "Wait, aren't you going to tell us who you guys are? In civilian form?" Jadeite asked. Sailor Mars glared at them as if they were asking the rudest question, "Why should we? What if this is a trap?" "Nephryte, don't you know who I am?" Sailor Moon asked, she remembered that he knew who Sailor Moon was just before he "died." "No, I don't remember anything from when I worked from the Negaverse, except what we told you." Nephryte said. "Neither do I. Will you tell us?" Jadeite asked. He was the more outgoing one out of the two generals, he wasn't afraid of asking questions, or of looking vulnerable. "No, I think not. If we tell you, you might want to go back like that." Luna said. "Hey, the cat's pretty smart," Nephryte smiled. "Excuse me, my name is Luna. Not Kitty, not The Cat. I would appreciate it if you would call me Luna. And this here, is Artemis." Luna introduced herself and Artemis. "Let's go. I'm beat." Sailor Venus said and started to follow Tuxeedo Mask and the rest out of the park. "Do you guys have a place to stay?" Sailor Jupiter asked and turned to them. "Um..no. We'll find one." Jadeite said. He could tell Nephryte was going into a shocked state or something, staring at her. "There are some vacancies in in the apartment complex I live in. You can stay there. It's pretty expensive, though." Sailor Jupiter offered. She never fought these two generals before, so she had no idea how dangerous the could get, if they happen to switch sides. Again. Jadeite looked at Nephryte, questiongly. Nephryte only nodded. "Okay, I guess that's okay." Jadeite answered. "What, doesn't your friend talk?" Sailor Jupiter asked. "Cat's got his tongue," Jadeite joked, looking at the two cats. "Ugghhhh!" Everyone groaned at the horrible pun. "Sorry, just seeing if you guys have a sense of humor." Jadeite said. "What are you thinking?! They are dangerous!" Sailor Mars whispered to Sailor Jupiter. She wanted to slap her tall friend on the head. "I thought they were on our side?" Sailor Jupiter asked. "You can't be too sure. They ARE from the Negaverse, you know how much scum comes out from THERE!" Sailor Mars said loudly. "Just tell me who to toast when you figure it out okay? I'm getting tired of sorting the bad from the good. Just point out who's friend or foe. That's all I need to know." Sailor Jupiter sighed. She really was getting tired of playing detective and finding out who's bad, who's not. They all stopped walking infront of the park. It was getting dark. Everyone lived on the east side of the park except for Sailor Jupiter. "Are you sure you want them to follow you home? Then they'll know who you are." Sailor Moon said. "Like I give a hoot." Sailor Jupiter said, then looked sorry, "I'm sorry. I'm just not in a good mood today." "Okay, but you know what to do if they, you know." Sailor Mercury whispered and indicated her communicator. "Sure," Sailor Jupiter promised them. "Maybe I should go with her," Luna said. "It's up to you," Sailor Jupiter shrugged. "I'll follow her. I'll meet up with you guys tommorow." Luna followed Sailor Jupiter as everyone split up and went their different ways. The two generals walked silently behind Sailor Jupiter. Nephryte observed her from behind. Her hair still bounced when she walked and she still walked with a certain dignity in her. Nephryte said, his mind exploded with joy. She's not dead, afterall! Nephryte squinted as he saw Sailor Jupiter's clothes get blurry. At first he thought it was his eyes, but when he looked at Jadeite, he saw that he too was rubbing his eyes. Then, after a few seconds, he saw that Sailor Jupiter shifted into civilian clothes. "I'm going to go talk to her," Nephryte whispered and went to catch up with her. He noticed that he and Jadeite was still in those old gray uniforms of the Negaverse, and he wished that he could change. Luna walked to where Nephryte was and tried to match Jadeite's pace. Jadeite looked down at the cat and picked her up. Noticing the wierd crecent moon on her forehead. "Is that a bald spot?" Jadeite asked, indicating the crescent moon. "No!" Luna said angrily. Why did everyone think it was a bald spot? "Well don't have to get so angry about it," Jadeite said. "So, Luna. Tell me....um....do you eat regular cat food or do you eat rice like us humans?" "That is a very silly question. I'm a cat, so naturally, I eat cat food." Luna answered, shaking her head. Nephryte's conversational skills were not making it easy to talk to Sailor Jupiter. He walked beside her and looked at her, silently admiring her profile. "Jupiter, do you remember me?" Nephryte asked suddenly. Lita frowned, "Didn't they tell you? I became a senshi a month or so after they defeated you." "Huh?" Nephryte didn't know what she was talking about. "Of course I don't remember you. I've never met you." Lita said again. Nephryte thought. His heart spasmed that she could not remember her past, him. "Don't you remember, Princess Jupiter?" Nephryte tried again. "Who's the Princess of Jupiter? Did you know her? I've never met her." Lita asked. She had no idea that was her. Nephryte thought, "What do you want me to call you while you're in your civilian form?" Nephryte asked, changing the subject. "Lita's fine with me." Lita said. Then, she remembered she didn't know his name, "What's your name?" Nephryte tried to hide the dissapointment in his voice, "Nephryte." He pointed to Jadeite inback of them who was still talking to Luna, "That's Jadeite." "Nephryte as in the gemstone?" Lita asked. "Yes," Nephryte said. "And Jadeite as in Jade?" "Umm-hmmm," Nephryte nodded. Lita stopped infront of her apartment complex and lead them to the first floor. She rang the doorbell to the apartment manager. "Mr Narumi, are you home?" Lita called into the intercom. "Okay, I'll be right down," The apartment manager said. He clicked the intercom off. "Mr Narumi is our apartment manager. He's a nice old man." Lita said to the two Generals. "How are we going to pay for the apartment?" Jadeite whispered to Nephryte. The had been observing what a nice neighborhood it was and how big the apartments looked like. "Easy, we'll get jobs." Nephryte whispered back. "But we need a down payment," Jadeite added. "How much money do you have right now?" Nephryte asked. "About two hundred in ten dollar bills," Jadeite said. He checked his pockets earlier, surprised to find money in them. "Me too. I think four hundred is enough for a down payment." Nephryte said. The door opened and revealed a round man with a fuzzy mustache. "Good evening, Mr Narumi." Lita said politely. "Ah, Lita. Good evening. And who are these two gentlemen?" He greeted. "Oh, this is Jadeite, and that's Nephryte." Lita introduced, "They want to rent an apartment." "Oh? Well, come into my apartment. We'll talk about this in there." Mr Narumi started to lead them up the stairs to his own apartment. "I'm going up to mine, Mr Narumi. Good night." Lita said. She picked Luna up from the floor and started to walk up the other stairs up to hers. "Lita, did you give me this month's rent yet?" Mr Narumi asked. "Oh, I almost forgot." Lita took out her check book from her pocket and started to write a check. Nephryte took a glance at it and almost choked. It was almost a thousand dollars. Why was this girl living in her own apartment and how did she get all this money? Lita handed the check to Mr Narumi and walked up the stairs. Nephryte exchanged an amused look with Jadeite, who just shrugged. ****** ***** ****** ****** ******* *********** ******* I know, this chapter is kind of long, but I just had to get everything in.
